I’ll take a SWAG and say it’s close to 20%, with the manual being within 5% of that.

Be interesting to see some stock dyno numbers side by side just to give us a reference when thinking about what the twin turbos will add to the rear tire

I'm assuming they are internal wastegate turbos without the ability to swap the spring in the actuator (oem style). I believe a while back he said what the turbo models are if you search through his previous posts.

What method for boost control would you recommend @OVTune ?

They may not be part of the kit and tune but external WGs are always an option.

Seems like alot of unnecessary exhaust fab work if you could achieve the boost increase you want using a boost controller (or maybe by adjusting the actuator rod to preload wastegate spring if possible) ?

I'm no expert on this. Just learning as much as possible.

I just want the base kit. for 1 I don't want to drop the gas tank, for 2 I don't want to go down that rabbit hole I always see people do, trying to get more power. I don't tow much and use this truck has a DD so it needs to be as close to factory reliability. I hope I have the money when they release it.

For 1, you are already going down that rabbit hole for more power by buying this kit.
For 2, boost is an addiction so when you have the bug you will have realized that you should have gotten the powermax kit in the first place because now you have to upgrade turbos and fuel mods all within a year....and now you find yourself dropping the tank anyways:welder::sawzall:

It will help while towing yes. Install time going to vary and when it’s available is yet to be determined.

I’d say it’s more likely the clutch explodes than the transmission

It's definitely gonna slip, as soft as it is. It'll go fast without a light foot. Good thing there's upgrades available. Should be at the top of everyone's list right now

Just joining in on this thread and just read the last couple pages cause I didn't want to read all 300 ;D is there a price estimated yet for the different turbo options? How will it affect mpg?

I don't have a Tacoma yet, but am making plans for modding to prepare a budget and think a turbo would be awesome!

Stock flywheel should be just fine but if you're worried about it, urd has the torque-u heavy flywheel. As far as I know that's the only available upgrade on the market, but I'm not 100 on that. I'll probably go with their stage 3 clutch and just resurface the stock flywheel

Listed below are the intercooler size options listed on OVTune's TT info page.

The surface area is very similar between the two options and the option with a smaller surface area is taller. Of these two which will be better at actually cooling the air when placed in the Tacoma grill?

    29.5" x 11" with 3" depth (total surface 324.5)

    23.75 x 13.5" x 3" (total surface 320.625)

Or is more specific information on the fin configuration required to make the determination?

I don’t have a MT but does this truck have a single mass fly wheel? In the VW world I only heard of dual mass flywheels being a weak point when adding power. I imagine a single mass is stout enough and won’t fail before the clutch.

I guess if you’re already replacing the clutch though might as well replace the flywheel (and maybe the throw out bearing if it’s inexpensive) for the added piece of mind.
