No, I don't plan to offer it this way. Too much risk of engine blowing.
Boost controller can only INCREASE boost past wategate pressure. It cannot decrease boost.
    Baseline wastegate pressure is 9psi

    Correct

Okay, I have a couple follow up questions then.
What psi is the Base kit good for on stock fueling?
And what is it good for with upgraded DI?

None at this time. Too poor for twin turbos.
From Page 1 of this post i think this answers your questions, if not just ignore this. I don't know if he'll have info for how much boost you can push into each kit before you send a piston into the sky but I'm sure when vFTuner comes out someone will find out.

    Kit:

Not too long ago Mat did mention how much boost he believed each kit would be able to handle on the stock fuel system but things have progressively changed since then as he unfortunately encountered fueling issues and such. I just thought I’d ask again to make an informed decision before deciding on which kit, as well as maybe help answer this same question for someone else that maybe trying to decide between the base or the powermax.

Ya I'm in the same boat cause 340~ HP/TQ would be perfect but being able to increase it on the base kit turbos would be nice if I ever get board. Hopefully OVTUNE has a guess on how much boost we can put through each kit before we create our own rocket program.

Engine still hasnt blown on 20 psi.

Manifolds are being sent out for 3D scans friday, and prototype casting by the end of April will be done.

Manifolds will be investment cast stainless steel.
I've got some pictures of various part locations on the truck I'll be uploading as well. Very happy with how is has turned out, and will be finishing intake design while manifolds are cast.

Overall the truck is running very good. I've tested on dirt, grass, street, 4H, 4L, 2wheel.. no problems under any conditions.

The transmission tune is really cool with this setup the way it responds and generates boost.
So in 5th gear, at 2000 RPM you can generate full boost (With base wastegate pressure of 9psi I see around 11-12psi at this rpm, tapering down back to 9~10psi)
BUT once this boost is generated @ around 50% throttle the torque converter will lock and RPM will drop down to ~1500-1600 RPM while still maintaining full boost.

    6th gear as well, 4th, 3rd, etc.

The powermax turbos spool faster on the street than they do testing on the dyno (load).

During cruise driving at part throttle you can generate about 3-5psi without leaving 14.7 AFR and the truck will cruise nicely at low rpm, around 1100 rpm and 3-5psi.

as far as breaking the tires loose...no matter what I try the truck won't break all 4 tires loose in 4H on the street. There is no slip, torque converter remains locked, but it just wont spin them fronts.

I have not, but I have also not seen any trans temp hot issues, or CELs regarding the transmission, etc. the other day I tested for about 3 hours straight just back to back WOT pulls dialing in fuel and transmission while in 4H. So far the transmission has put up with the abuse much better than I expected it would.

I'm kind of shocked nothing has broken so far. Tuning this has been....a challenge, and usually when you lean out at 15+psi on a high compression motor something breaks. I have had dozens and dozens of full boost lean out situations while figuring out, and tuning the fuel.

When this engine does knock though at full boost the detonation is LOUD and nasty.

so yea even having nasty detonation at 5000 rpm near peak HP during tuning... she's still running.

What would be the advantage of the powermax low boost kit over the base kit with the DI upgrade and it turned up to 10psi? Seems they’ll be in the same ballpark with respect to power, but the base setup will be >1k cheaper?

The base kit is going to have boost taper at higher rpm so you will not have as much high end.

I do remember that. I assumed that would be solved with the new fuel pump and DIs. I think it tapered because of old fueling issues
