OVT, is this configuration of the intercooler set up in the picture below how the existing TT kit will be configured? Looking to keep the placement and routing of the intercooler tubing the same through the front engine bay wall and try to modify the tubing within the grill space. Screen Shot 2019-12-15 at 11.03.37 AM.jpg

Would appreciate any other updated pics of the FMIC installed with the plastic grill off so we can see the how the intercooler and tubing is configured. It appears that the intake and outlet tubing is routed through the openings just behind the headlights, correct?

Might want to check out the Treadstone TR10C. The specs are similar to the 1035: TR10C (700 HP with 1050 CFM) vs 1035 (575 HP, 1000 CFM) but has slightly smaller overall length compared to the 1035 ( 28" instead of 30"). The core dimensions are exactly the same as 1035.

I wonder if the inlet/outlets being centered will work better not to mention its 2" shorter in length

    Right.
They spool super fast but it is very controllable. And I have it setup to lock the torque conveter at / around the throttle angle where it will see full boost. So it is controllable power.

With out a merge of the twin outlet tubes, that would need to be fabricated to merge into just one side of that style of core.

Another option would be a twin inlet core with single outlet. May or may not require as much fabrication.

The intercooler I am using is 1 in, 1 out. You don't need 2 in 1 out.

you can see how it is setup here:

I saw that one too, thought the higher ports would be better when I was measuring. Either way, too late, ordered the 1035 yesterday.

I'm going to mount my FMIC higher up directly behind the grill. Horn relocation, Hood latch support relocation, whatever I gotta do...

This is super encouraging because I think that's something people were worried about, especially people that just want the base kit. Thanks for clarifying Mat

OVT, Sorry to blast you with questions but

    1) what intercooler specs will work best for the powermax low boost kit? (will CFM of 750 be too restrictive or should it be closer to 1000?)

    2) I assume you are using 3" inlet/outlet tubing?

    Thanks

Okay that’s a solid answer in my decision making. If you went with a base kit it would be roughly a 25-30hp gain in forking over $1849 for the DI’s. Base is great value and enough for most as is. but I think I’m definitely back on the powermax train.

This is what URD does with their Rotrex kits. The intercooler becomes the support in place of the hood latch support. But the latch stays in place.

We talking Gen 1 or Gen 2 Ecoboost?

Those numbers look like Gen 1. Gen 2 guys are getting closer to 500whp everyday. Mind you I wouldn't want to line up against a TT Tacoma on powermax because that thing could probably get the jump on a Gen 2 tuned right

:)Here’s an idea for the guys that have winches but need an inter cooler.

I have no relation to this company, just picked this one at random.

Do a battery relocate, place this where the battery is, run custom piping and coupling and there you go. Oh, you’re gonna want to run a heat exchanger and a good pump. Looks like it might could work.:)

I had almost that exact air-water intercooler on my 1st rotrex setup it was Urd’s MK1 kit before I went to an air-air. First of all heat soak is generally more of an issue with them, and it requires many more parts to work, like a pump, hoses, reservoir and a heat exchanger. All of that will add up to a lot. In the end it might not even provide enough cooling for these turbos.
