I believe you will lose a little power at high altitudes but most vehicles do. As for the cold snowy months it should be no problem. Although there is less air, the cold air across the intercooler will be a benefit. I'm no expert but feel you really shouldn't have any problems.

I feel like this 9/15 update was a severe disappointment.

Since he rerouted the turbos and intercooler, I highly doubt we should any problems with snow or high altitude.

I liked what @OVTune mentioned about the reasoning for scrapping the lower hanging turbo setup. I off road pretty frequently and don't need something else to worry about getting banged up lol like the idea of everything being mounted higher

Yep, turbo housings don't usually bend. They just break.

I'm pretty sure he is going to make it so it will fit as many vehicles as possible.

In that case people need to stop whining as this introduces much more variables than anticipated

True, but that’s more indicative of the consumer than a tuner/supplier. This whole customer always right bs needs to go away and dealt with accordingly. Anyway just ranting for no particular reason

Depending on the complaints, it could probably make the end product better. Given these aren't even out yet means it's not likely. All the questions people have about fitment are important though, anything that could spark a new idea in mats mind is good.

600+hp. So who’s going to blow up their stock Tacoma first?

I guess I need to read up on the compression ratio of a Tacoma and how it’s done in other vehicles. Doubling hp and leaving everything stock makes me a little nervous.

Pretty sure ovtune said he's having some internals manufactured to accomodate the highest end power here. I don't think anyone considering the 600hp kit is gonna be running it on a stock engine.

could always think about a vmic so it doesnt block the rad and should provide options for peoples winches/custom bumpers etc... for people who are that serious - that shouldnt be a worry anyhow... if i go with the setup - it's not something you nickel and dime... build it right and build it once

AFAIK, the crank and rods are already forged, so probably just forged pistons? I guess you could upgrade to mahle or cosworth rods and crank if they make them... the clutch is gonna need to be beefed up for sure eh? Wondering how the trans will hold up.

I'm betting the majority of people who get this kit will go for a middle of the road setup, no where near this 600hp unicorn.

I'll go middle road until I get used to it. Then my wallet will go just like a 600hp taco... quickly :burnrubber:

Yeah I think URD has the only beefed up clutch available, at least that ive heard of.

The trans at that range is a bit of a wildcard. Mat might say something different, he has umpteen amounts more experience in that regard than many of us do. Mat has said if it breaks in his test vehicle, he will find the breaking point and come up with a solution.

He's also working on getting some beefed up internals manufactured to handle the high end ponies. Couldn't find the quote in this thread I think it's in the alpha thread.
