So you guys doing base kits, are you planning on doing the direct injector option? I was originally think the base kit was going to be enough, and it probably will be for daily driving, but the urge to have more on tap is already setting in for me.

For me it's an option if base 6.5 psi doesn't have enough of what I am expecting and wanting out of it. For now it's my daily driver and I dont need it to be a daily racer! Glad to have option to add more boost .

That was my original plan as well. I started thinking about the install. I will already have the intake plenum off for plugs. Just got me thinking it would make it really convenient to do the injectors at that time. Rather then have to pull it all apart the second time to do it later if I want more.

Did some mock up on a bracket for intercooler . Going to have a fabricator make it one piece. Going to have two brackets up top to give extra support.

Do you have any issues with your hood closing?
Originally I wanted to put the intercooler in this upper area,
but messing with the brackets and support bars for the hood latch makes the hood hard to close / does not close.

Does it matter that the FMIC outlet (or inlet) is on the 'high' side as cooler air sinks?

I'd guess that it's not a vast difference.

At this point i am not moving it . It fits doesnt rub on intercooler. The only reason to move it for me would be if its not getting enough air flow to cool with!

@OVTune with the 04B14 MT ECU version out in the wild now and the cuw available, will we be able to request our TT tunes be sent for that ECU version rather than B13? I am intending to update to B14 but don't want to until I've B14 2.0 or TT maps ready to go. Or will they be what we're currently on? If so, not a problem

Unless you are towing I wouldn’t worry about it too
much but If you were I would monitor the Tranny oil temp via a scanguage. I tow quite often and near capacity so I will be moving it down to the lower opening. Now, if I could just decide which intercooler to go with:confused:

I might wait to install the full kit and see how the plumping is ideally routed before deciding and ordering between the tr1035 or the tr10c intercooler. Downside is I’ll have a sitting truck for a few weeks.

I do have a scangauge i will monitor. I do not tow anything and dont plan to. Both the coolers will work TR1035 and TR10C. The TR10C looks to have a little more room and it just may go thru the behind headlight opening. I had purchased earl and i am happy with how its going pass into engine bay and hook up with the reaming kit tubing.

So that's the TR10C you have in the pics... I've been stalling on completing the remainder just because I haven't seen (or even looked for) how Mat's complete kit mounts up. My guess is I'll just have to go with Mat's "no IC" option and follow your lead.
