OVTune 3.5L Tacoma Supercharger and Twin Turbo Systems

Same, I'm waiting out the first iteration.

 

So how many people are going to be doing fueling upgrades out of curiosity?

 

I am planning to do all of the fueling upgrades as of now.

 

Not sure if it was discussed but since the turbos @OVTune is using are the exact ones the Ecoboost 3.5 uses, will anyone be running these?

@OVTune, will there be any octane learning in the code? What happens if you by mistake or if some gas station out there isn't quite the advertised 91+?

 

Looks to me like another one of those throttle body spacer and intake vortex things.

 

These actually work on the Ecoboost and I'm throwing a set on my buddy's truck this weekend. The exhaust is able to flow better with these so you're able to make more power. They are tried and tested on the f150 Ecoboost Forum.

I didn't think the stock F-150 used Garrett turbos? I won't be adding them in the beginning even if an option.. I'll be going straight and basic OVTune recommendations on low boost and spend some time learning about the new FI setup and monitoring performance and efficiency before delving into additional upgrades (or turning up the boost.)

Yes. As well as an extra bung for an AFR/EGT.

 

I'm actually doing this. Will be doing cutout in front of the rear tire with a side exit hole in the bedside.

 

I think I will likely do this once I have everything installed and decide what I'm doing with the exhaust. Won't order until I'm ready so it's not just another part waiting to be installed haha.

 

I’m running those on my SC tundra couple years now...my advice is to get the oval ones and not the round for an FI motor otherwise you will be rebuilding them more often than not.

The F150 uses the other turbos in OVTune's kit. Those are the stock ones and the Powermax is an upgraded stock location turbo. My buddy in Florida has a built bottom end running the Garrett's. But both sets of turbos are directly off the 3.5 Ecoboost

 

Quick time performance told me it was the increased back pressure from the forced induction not sure I believe that but they did replace twice at no charge. Right now they are leak free but I don’t think it will last.

 

Well I am bored enough that I put together the wiring harness for my boost gauge. Only thing I will need to do is cut to length and a couple terminals when the time comes.
