I think most will be against losing a vent but what about having it built into the vent on the right of the steering wheel?

Re-posting this in the correct thread. Sometimes i get alpha thread and twin turbo confused.

    @OVTune
    Had a few questions ..

-How does ECT function with the turbos?
-How does boost work with the simulated atkinson cycle?
-Will E85 be an option at time of release day?
-will i be able to switch between E85 and 91octane on the go? Similiar to flex fuel vehichles?

That is the RON (Research Octane Rating), which is most commonly used worldwide, but not in the US and some other countries.
The octane rating you see at gas pumps in the US is AKI (Anti-Knock Index) or R+M/2 (Average of RON and MON).

91 RON is actually equivalent to 87 pump gas.

I know but this is why you are the chosen one with all of your talents and abilities to find a solution to this vexing problem. Just a thought but how about the cubby area below the A\C switches and above the cup holders. That area has enough room to hold 2 gauges.

I went over those locations, but looking down trying to focus on the gauge while driving is not the best...

I get you but after almost 50 years of flying I have had to scan gauges high, low, and everywhere in between. A properly designed gauge with a good visibility would not be hard to read in that position.

Edit: anyway that is where I plan on putting my gauges when I get boosted.

To be fair most if any of us dont have 50 years of experience flying. Ide prefer a location thats out of the way yet still visible and easy to see, especially when flooring it and you need to keep eyes on the road/boost guage

When i had my ms3, i had a mount in my center dash with 3 pods, angled towards driver side. Wasn't terribly hard to glance at, and that was with me pushing 29psi. Much more reason to be able to quickly look over and read the displays in that car than what i expect the Tacoma ecoboost will be like lol I just don't know if it would be an eyesore in our trucks

How about on the A-pillar? It's a pretty common place to mount gauges, doesn't block your view or take your eyes off the road (just your focus, but that happens regardless).

Ignore the taped-on AFR gauge, haha....I hadn't committed to that spot yet so I was testing it out there.

I see some put gauges near the center console or in the same area as the radio, never really understood that location since it forces you to look away from the road almost entirely.

ah, yeah I guess that would be a downside to that idea.

@mesojdm if it helps, this is what I was referring to that I had in my MS3. The 350 and/or 370z has them stock iirc. Mine was fabbed up by CPE. Just don't know how much of an eyesore that would be in our Tacoma's lol not to mention, idk if we really need to be running 3 gauges. My Tacoma isn't meant to become my racetruck

boost and AFR gauges are a must have...I think a fuel pressure gauge or accurate engine temp gauge could be good too esp if you start doing other mods to increase boost

    Any real world numbers yet?
    Price
    HP
    Torque
    MPG
    Install hours
    Etc...

Soon could mean anything. Hell URD has been working on a kit for the first gen tundra and first gen tacoma for ever and they always say "soon" lol. Probably since at least 2012.
