Have the same issue, with all Ovtune versions and also stock.

It was one of the things I was hoping would be fixed but has always remained the same for AT.

Not sure if it only happens in first gear, sometimes if you are driving very slowly <25mpg it will also bog down even if you press throttle all the way, it's a very obvious difference as to when it actually goes full throttle.

Hard to say. First question I suppose needs to be what you're ultimately looking for and what you want your truck to be like with turbos. I envision basically a Toyota version of a sorta OEM Ford Ecoboost setup, and don't care for high power numbers, so the base kit on 6.5psi will suit me just fine. And I've only towed three times in 3 years with not much weight, so it's not really a concern for me either. I'm confident that the base turbos will be fine for towing seeing as previous OVT tunes were solid in those situations. :notsure:

I’d say the base turbos will make very similar power to the powermax’s on 7 psi, given the latest changes. The latest powermax dyno reflects those changes, while the last base kit dyno doesn’t. So no reason to go with powermax turbos unless you want to run >7psi.

Is >300 g/sec still within the range of the sensor with enough resolution? Does that correlate to upper frequency output range? Glad to see you having a bit more time to dedicate to tuning!

6.5psi - 7psi on powermax, where's the fuel get too lean for an all stock fuel system I think is what @Metallikatz3 is asking.

When do you lose your safety net for stock fueling, that's why I asked could those numbers be hit stock fueling. If not I'm fine with it and will just run 6psi instead of 7psi for time being on my powermax.

Both the powermax and base kits are fine on completely stock fuel system with 6~7 psi.

The tune is setup to run very rich for safety, so there is a lot of fuel window before you start going too lean.

I have mitigated this issue as much as possible on the boost setup. But it will bog or feel crappy if you go full throttle full boost under 2000 RPM. This is mainly from lack of ignition.

Gotcha, so full throttle under 2000rpm is what causes it huh? Happens so randomly sometimes but I never noticed something like this in other vehicles, kinda sucks that Toyota designed it this way

an update regarding kits, shipping time frame, etc.

Nearly all components are here, and we have begun shipping on some orders (mainly kits that are partial like without intercooler, or people ordering who are doing some highly customized setups.)

All our fuel pump controllers are here and are being setup.
Turbos, manifolds, downpipes, etc all are here (catless).
First set of catted downpipes will be here for our approval.
The reason the catted downpipes took so long is a custom Catalyst had to be made due to space and size constraints.

So, our catted downpipes will be here soon and we will be expanding on orders shipping out.
This first 25x batch is a little bit of a challenge due to the components all arriving at different times (and some things were delayed). But no worries it's all coming together.
I do want to thank everyone for their patience, and we are very excited to start getting these on trucks.

With that being said. Unfortunately after these initial kits are shipped out, the price of the turbo kit is likely to go up. Cost of manufacturing is going up, and ensuring that all of our components are made in the USA makes it a challenge to maintain the current price.

So, for the initial order guys, you being the first batch adopters you have nothing to worry about price wise.
But there will be some price changes for the kit when we start taking more orders.

(for example the initial quote on the catted downpipe price doubled on our cost due to the cat having to be *custom made*).

so just to be clear this is just turbo kit going up, none of the fueling upgrades in the foreseeable future right?

please don't talk me into spending more right now lol

to be clear, the price of the turbo kit when we start accepting more orders is going to cost more.

Originally I was planning to go with catted pipes, but with rising costs maybe catless is the better option. I don't have emissions to pass, and I'm assuming tuning will get rid of any CEL's associated with going catless?

Any price changes, option changes, etc will be determined after we release this first batch.

Also something I didn't get to post a while back is all you initial order folks get the higher capacity CNC turbo oil pan included.

With the cat-less downpipes will there be gasoline odor if we are using this application for a daily driver and family trips?

Cold starts may stink a little, that's about it. The truck still has the secondary cats.
