Sounds like Matt has to lay the sack down on some keyboard hero's hahahahaha. I love that he calls out these tools, unfortunately they detract from the progress of both the turbo and tunes. These people really need to STFU and get off this platform with their garbage.

I've had my a pillar off many times but don't remember how far down the airbag goes?

Edit: never mind, goes almost to the bottom.

I think its more in the upper 2/3. But regardless, the entire A piller cover snaps off when it deploys. So I don't think anything attached to it would be a good idea = projectile.

I have came to the conclusion that a 52mm round gauge just won't look right in the Tacoma dash without sacrificing an air vent, or something else.
I'm back to the drawing board and really think these 1" OLED screens are the ticket. Trying out a new pod, and the cool thing is the dash looks symmetrical, so theoretically You could have a pod on each side mirrored.

I still don’t understand how the oh shit handle on the passenger side doesn’t interfere with the airbag.

Me too, actually, but I still would want an analogue gauge...:boink:

I really like the positioning but how about getting wires to it?

I agree, something about going digital oled just makes me think it won't have as much long term reliability, especially in hot climates. I repair bad monitors and power supplies from slot machines for a living, hence my skeptism.

That's more like the Meso flow right there. I've only had analog boost gauges so looking forward to seeing those in action.

I am curious too. I know the 52mm just didn't look right...
That's why it's called a rough draft lol

Does the passenger side have an airbag or does the one in the dash cover for it? Don't see how it would work either.

Would it be possible to do an app in the head unit? Someone must make a blue tooth transmitter that can read gauge signals right?

It can probably be done these days but you want these gauges in line of sight as much as possible.

The bags blow downward/outwards not inward towards the person. They are curtains. So think of them exactly like that

Which is also why I don’t understand why a pillar mounted gauge would be an issue.

So what I was thinking was something like those, and fabbing a piece to replace the flat black plastic piece between the dash and the gauge cluster. I was looking at it on the way home and depending on the height of your steering wheel(the top of which may impede your view of said screens), if that plastic piece is replaced with one that hangs down lower, it could retain an OEM look without cluttering the gauge or dash or interfering with airbags or defrost or whatever else.

I'll take a photo and circle the piece I'm talking about
