Unless @mesojdm designs and markets multiple options, he can't really design around aftermarket items that people may or may not have. It's not like everyone has the TPAM, and it's not an OEM product/option. Adding other aftermarket things is something you choose to do and accept the consequences if it results in something else that you want not working out.

He can't design around every single aftermarket product for his own products or it'd become his life. Same with any other company

He does want to include a boost gauge. But that's not what is being discussed in my comment. A member commented about how the design that everyone likes best from @mesojdm wouldn't work with his EXE TPAM, which is an aftermarket item.

Meso cannot be expected to design around aftermarket items, only oem ones

I thought you meant OEM as in Toyota OEM

I do. OEM is OEM is OEM. The EXE TPAM is not an OEM option/product. Meso cannot be expected to design around it when not everyone has it. Or at least not a significant portion of the OVT TT customer base

I'm confused  I thought meso wanted to design around a standard gauge and then team up with mat to ship those gauges and his mounting system with the kits

Okay. Let's try it this way. Let's say you install the SSO hybrid bumper. You've cut into your bumper, put it on, it's there, you're not taking it off.

Meso designs something that will allow you to run a pink fluffy elephant in your front bumper, but your hybrid bumper is in the way. You say, hey man, I've got this bumper here, but I really want to run the pink fluffy elephant too. So............that's gonna have to change because otherwise I cannot run it.

Meso designed the brackets for the pink fluffy elephant around stock design and OEM parts locations. He could not have been expected to incorporate the possibility that some customers have the SSO hybrid bumper because it's not an OEM option from toyota, and not everyone who has a tacoma has purchased a bumper

    Does that make sense?

Idk if the plan is to team up. I had suggested it as a possibility, but idk if that's the plan. That's between them. Either way, it's irrelevant to our discussion about aftermarket parts

What about adding those little gauges inside the steering wheel. Lol. Move the OEM Buttons to a new location on the steering wheel.

Just thinking the diamonds could fit in the lower portion of that steering wheel Panel on both sides and the two square sections I believe are big enough for both digit gauges. Plus it would just be a 3D print ME-SO would need to make and it screws back into that location.

Steering wheel is out of the question for me. Not to mention the amount of worked needed to modify the clock spring to bring all the wires through.

Then I think the only really good option is the two symmetrical locations on the top of the bezel on each side.

I wonder, how would a 1.5" analog gauge look in those locations...

as long as it's easily readable while driving is my biggest concern, a quick glance out of the corner or my eye would all I would need to read the gauge(s)

no to a phone app, I use my phone for too many other things while driving (gps, music)

no to hacking the display and layering another screen

I like the astetics of the two smaller meters but I want larger gagues that I can read
