id put a small diesel in mine like a 2.0l TDI if i could get it to about 275 hp and around 400ftlbs in a heart beat. just dont want to deal with the headache of trying to get everything to work

 

I always wanted to pull a small Diesel from the light plants at work and build a lil buggy around it. But yeah FICMs and shit, sounds like a nightmare

 

there's a guy on youtube that put a 1.9/2.0 ALH VW TDI engine in a 91 toyota pickup. its nice and he said it has about 200hp and 360ftlbs which honestly is perfect for that truck

 

Yes, modding for more boost would defeat the original intent of the diesel in the first place.. fuel savings. I have a short acceleration video stepping on it with the D4D diesel. Looking at it now I may have left it on ecomode lol but you can see it’s very slow once you get up in speeds. (Speedometer is in KM).

 

I know a guy that swapped his 2nd gen taco with a 1.9 TDI. He said it was underpowered even after some mods and that although the itself motor was solid, the components around it weren’t. For a lighter 1st gen or older 80’s, 90’s Toyota truck which originally came with a 22re or 3vz then I’d say it’s worth doing but not to replace our already well powered 1gr or 2gr’s. But def cool to see

Please double check because yours definitely already shipped and delivered. That tracking number was replaced with a new one, due to weight change.
