To be honest, dropping the tank is actually super easy. Two fuel lines disconnected, unbolt the two straps, disconnect the filler neck, disconnect the charcoal canister. As long as you have less than a quarter tank of fuel it's really easy.

I stupidly had almost a full tank when I started, but I did it by hooking up two ratchet straps and just lowering it that way. Then proceeded to siphon all the fuel out.

If you really need that long range tank, put it in. Its not hard at all to drop the tank. The hardest part is taking off the stubborn connectors followed my installing the new pump into the pump plastic housing which you will only have to do once when the kit arrives. Now that you were expecting powermax turbos, how can you live without..
    Another FI?

Beat me to it. I drove around until it was near dry so I thought. When removed there was surprisingly more fuel than I thought. But the less gas in the tank the easier.

it’s going to be harder with the Long range tank, the shop doing the instal said it’s pretty hard to maneuver into the stock tank location. I’m also having them install an Alu-Cab canopy camper. So removing the bed will not be as easy a process. I’ve also heard it can be a bitch routing all of the vent hoses and whatnot with the bed on, so once the tank and camper are in place: it may be a much more time consuming and involved process to drop the tank.

    Lots of food for thought.
In all reality I’m not going to scrap forced induction because of dropping the tank. just disappointed I can’t kill two birds with one stone and get it done now.

I feel you. I prepped my truck two months ago based on the original timelines, and just left it disassembled because I don't want to do the work twice. I'm lucky enough to have another vehicle though.

Your situation sounds even more painful. If it were me, I'd probably just get a couple 5 gallon Scepter cans to put extra fuel in (I actually did that for my recent cross country excursion)

That’s what I’ve normally done and have done most my life.

I have an insanely expensive tank that makes it so I don’t need to do that though. I’d love to use it. I’m looking forward to not needing to fill up every day on my way to work with driving almost 150 miles most days.

DHL won't be available to pick yours up until friday :( since their only hub is hours from here.

all of those were strapped too. They are good strong boxes, unfortunately just dont fit the intercoolers.

You might want to install one of them anyway. When I was pulling my intake manifold apart for the injectors, I noticed that there was a liberal coat of oil on everything. This thing has terrible blow-by with that 0w20.

I went with larger Mishimoto cans. These JLTs I'd ordered prior to getting the bigger ones. The Mishimotos arrived sooner too. One for each turbo

Not to tangent, but what are you doing about the fuel gauge being off with the LR tank? I really want to snag one but I don't really want to deal with the headache of the truck panicking whenever the "tank gets low"
