Bilstein 6112/5160s. OME leaf springs. 285/75/16. RC tonneau cover. Supernova v3 led lows, highs, and fog lights. Kicker speaker upgrade.
Downpipe is will likely be remedied with a hammer and or prybar. I haven't dug into it enough to figure it out yet. Turbos are tight, but if clocked correctly the do fit with no issues. Oil filler neck is ok as long as you are using the intercooler piping that comes with the kit. Coupling can be pulled around the neck. Passenger side vent line off the valve cover is being tuned around or you can buy a boost tap and plumb it back into the intake. I did the install in a shop with a lift in about 16 hours. Have been working on getting everything completely done for about a month. Tuning and other small things I have been tweaking to my liking.

The shop doing my install had clearance issues for the driver side turbo actuator arm, and so they cut away some of the material that separates the bay from the wheel well. I figure I'll try to perhaps find a solution to cover that back up later since I'd rather it not remain open forever.

They also came across the issue of the turbo inlet pointing nearly directly at the oil fill extension. I passed on Meso's discovery that it can just be pulled off and removed, idk if they went through with that and if it worked. Their other option was probably going to have to be a different coupler I'd think, something like a 45 or s-bend.

Did they ever finish? You say "doing" so I'm guessing not? They sound like a big bag of 4th letters of the alphabet.

Yeah they still have the truck. They missed their 100% deadlines the week of Christmas and then apparently 90% of their shop caught covid and was quarantined or hospitalized immediately following Christmas. Ugh.

So they say they're aiming for me to be able to pick it up on Saturday. Who fucking knows man. It's always fucking something.

I think they know their shit. I also think they do lots of things unprofessionally when it comes to handling projects and whatnot.

It's pretty sad that they've taken this long. Like BigeTaco22 said, it's like a 16 hour job. A good shop with a knowledgeable team should be able to do it in less, excuses be damned. Be prepared for the fleecing they are going to give you in cost.

I also firmly believe that like OV said, there shouldn't be any cutting of the body to make this fit. My opinion, the shop isn't giving your truck the attention it deserves and they are more worried about making excuses to charge you more money instead of putting the effort into making it right. I'd make them patch that hole for free. Least they could do after screwing you over so much. I'd hope they have a welder and some spare body steel laying around.

I already caught them in a lie to begin with, when work didn't start for a week and a half because apparently the tech had covid. When I met him, he told me about how he'd been out of town visiting family for Thanksgiving (perfectly fine and acceptable).

And then all these missed deadlines and shit. The tech is an instructor for the school they're partnered with, which I get. Fine. But what I find very irritating is they also have him working on other vehicles too, so I get the general impression that when he works on mine, it's probably like 3-4 hours in a day. And then I get told about various delays due to "there's a lot of customization required, this is a big project", etc.

So fuck if I know when I'm seeing that damn truck again.

As for patching the hole or covering it somehow, I'm not involved in the install myself and don't have the necessary knowledge really to say no, this can absolutely be done easy, do it now, etc. It's like how I'm assuming that you don't know anything about cardiac catheterization, you probably wouldn't tell me how to do my job. Well, I'm not really knowledgeable enough about this situation at the moment to be telling them what has to happen because hell, there probably are fitment issues. There's already known speed bumps that people have been encountering, maybe that one really is one. I actually don't at all get the impression that the tech just cuts whatever he wants just for the fuck of it. If he says it needed to be done for fitment, I pretty much need to take him at his word is how I see it I guess.

You did say that they have been doing the install without even looking at the instructions. So if they start chopping all over or say that *major* fitment issues exist, it's likely untrue.

we have hit a few small speed bumps. Mainly 1. Drivers side downpipe touching, and a few other things.

nothing that requires you chopping the truck up all over. I just hope they don't do any damage by trying to "wing it." on the install

Unfortunately I doubt I can do much of anything except say "the kit developer has confirmed that nothing about this install requires chopping the truck up and you guys were attempting the install without looking at the instructions" and it'd probably just devolve into a he-said-she-said scenario from there, with them saying no this had to happen, and with nothing happening except probably me fucked over for the bill.

The level of "fuck it" you have reached with this install is hilarious and I feel for you

They cut a hole in the body and just left it.... That's like when an electrician comes in and cuts half your drywall down and says "oh, that's not my job, you'll have to hire a drywall guy to fix that" when they could have easily run a wire fisher from the attic. It's just lazy bullshit.

The fact they cut it in the first place aside, cutting a hole in the fender metal should have come with patching it back up. Plain and simple.

IF it can be patched up. Maybe the actuator arm really is hitting for whatever reason, proper install or not. I can't verify that myself without having it uninstalled and then redoing it really.

Lets say it was. These guys claim to be the turbo expert would know in 30 seconds you can just clock the housing away.

I am sorry you are having to go through this. I'd walk them through each step if they would contact me.

I provided your zendesk email on the first day that I met the tech, same day that I had forwarded the email instructions.

I'd be more than happy to pass along your number (if you're willing, I don't have it) and the zendesk email again, but ultimately it's on them to use it anyway.

    It's all frustrating.

Another quick question. The answer used to be on page 1 of this thread, but it's been edited a few times and appears to be missing.

With Powermax's, do I need larger injectors for base boost? If not, at what boost level do I need injectors?
If I remember right you can go base boost on stock injectors but need larger injectors for anything over.

I also have a TRD exhaust, would that be enough to push me out of range of the stock injectors??

Trying to talk myself out of buying this guys kit

Kit was developed on Mat's truck, which has the TRD exhaust.

I also have the TRD exhaust and went with base kit, keeping my OEM injectors.
