Just wanted to follow up on my previous post questioning the need for injectors.

I got an email from Matt this morning, he confirmed that larger injectors are not needed for base boost (7psi) on the powermax kit.

Deciding factor for me. I’m buying a Powermax kit from one of the remaining guys who’s kit hasn’t shipped yet.

Waiting for Matt to reply to the original buyer to change shipping address. Stoked to dive in to this!!

Alright, just sent payment to Tea-coma. As soon as we hear back from Matt I'll have a big boy kit headed my way whenever it ships.

@OVTune I've been talking to a few guys about install. One part that's come up that I don't understand is the missing instructions and part to re-route the passenger valve cover breather:

Matt can we get a response as to what we're supposed to do here? A few have welded on a new bung on the charge pipe... I had thought this kit was bolt on? I don't have access to a tig welder.

Edit: Looks like there's a couple bolt on options out there. Thanks for the responses guys.

We covered a few options. You have 3 really:

Option 1: Cap it the breather port with a small filter (FYI blow-by can come out of this port under some conditions and may end up in your engine bay)

Option 2: Tap your intake pipe with either the weld on fitting shown or a press in fitting for a silicone coupler (blow by will be unfiltered back into your intake for combustion. Keep in mind putting this pre turbo will cause it to go through turbo and cause buildup over time on turbo vanes)

Option 3: Tap your intake pipe as Option 2, but run it through a catch can.

Awesome thank you. Hard to sift through the entire 550 page thread. Appreciate it.

I'm about to start sifting through Jimmyturbo posts to find some apparent fuse box trimming that needs done.

speaking of weld on breather taps, here’s one back up for free, just purchase the manual beader for IC setup. $200, it won’t get lower, I’ll just keep it.

Not needed for those of us running the standard IC and pipe setup correct?

I’m not sure, don’t think you can bead the carbon fiber pipe. I used all aluminum with a FMIC.

Ok, I’m thinking of making my boost gauge permanent since I have a little downtime. Is someone still offering the in-vent solution?

Mildly interested in this since I wonder if I'll end up needing a gauge too. Hope not though. I like my aircon in the summers

I think that solution transferred air, just not* directionable anymore. Do you remember who that was?

Everyone running boost should have a boost gauge (boost and vacuum) running at all times as a diagnostic tool. I also prefer a mechanical gauge to an electronic stepper motor gauge because you can see things like flutter on a mechanical gauge that are smoothed out by an electronic gauge.

Yeah I was trying to move away from running it because I had a set of gauges on my last turbo car and found them super distracting, always looking at them for possible issues, it wasn't a very carefree/relaxed way of driving lol

I personally hate having excess gauges (my 700hp GTR doesn't even have a boost gauge), but with the variability of boost by different setups, I do recommend at least a temporary boost gauge.

Also UPS seems to have finally got their act mostly back together so I should be able to start pushing kits out again this week.

The install instructions are set to be updated as well.

Later, I'll explain what's going to be changed before any more kits are available.
