    OV's intercooler.

Don't know, would have to check. It was the coupler to pipe connection off of the intercooler that came off, not off the intercooler itself.

Went for a short little drive just now, just normal driving and a dude in a gen2 raptor with the windows down heard the slight spooling I'm assuming because he backed off and lunged lmfao I have self control however. More interested in not blowing up the truck

Boost leaks on maf set up are straight up not a good time. Literally leaves it undrivable.

Glad you guys got it sorted quickly.

If you have torque pro or ultragauge or whatever obdii reader, the fuel trims can be an indication of boost leak if they start going way positive. I know mat says you don't need to monitor but I would invest in torque pro to keep an eye on important pids like knock, AFR, auto trans temp, injector duty cycle, and long term fuel trims.

For $2500 they didn't make sure everything was tight?

I'm sure they did, but all things considered I'm not terribly upset about that. Experienced similar stuff when I had my big turbo speed3. Had to retighten clamps and whatnot and sealed with hairspray. Did that yesterday to the coupler that came off and I'm thinking I'll be going in and doing that to the others too just to be sure.

When you've checked over everything, do a cold start log, let it start from dead cold and don't touch anything just idle for 5 mins.

Then let's finish dialing it in :)

    @OVTune

My local forced induction tuning shop should be finishing up with the TT kit install in the next couple days.

    1) what gap are you recommending for the plugs? 7 psi springs, DI, pump upgrade: read 0.028 but not less than 0.025

    2) please confirm that I can flash the TT 04A71 file you emailed me despite originally registering vF Tuner to my 04A70 ECU. (I ended up buying more credits since the shop wants me to flash the tune with my laptop tomorrow or Tuesday)

They also requested a way to contact you if they have questions or need to trouble shoot with pump controller, etc.

Nice fab work! Hope welding the inlet directly onto the compressor housing won’t be an issue if any warranty issues arises. You def won’t have boost leak that’s for sure

    Nice!

To use the A71 you must update your truck to A71 via techstream.

@OVTune my label was created 1/15/21 for fuel pump and tatrix cable. Any chance that can find its way to a truck so I can get the cable and start tuning?

@OVTune I have read every page of this string, plus others, and am keenly interested in TT, only sorry that i missed the first round. But a recent request from you to a completed installer, got me thinking that i must ask: Is your TT NOT recommended for heavy towing? Not sure if you are asking for limited WOT until final tuning, or if you are saying that WOT towing will always be risky?

Just to be clear, i have often held my previous tacoma to the floor for very long runs, climbing and at high rpm. Same for my Jeep before that. Though this is never totally without risk, And admittedly requires close monitoring of guages, I have assumed that your Tune will protect the engine, similar to factory (transmission and drive line excluded).

My primary interest in TT is for sprinting and pleasant highway cruising, as i do not often tow; but want to go into this with eyes open.

Anticipating the big snails, for consistent boost to near redline.

    Look forward to your comments.

No issues with heavy towing. To clarify, it's important during installation not to WOT it until the final tune has been flashed. Enter Meso's truck which did not fair well from this. Basically he most likely ran lean because the tune was still off. When you install the turbos, you flash the base turbo tune, do some gentle driving for logging purposes, then flash your finalized tune. Then you can floor it.

Regarding WOT while towing is a different issue. OV specifically mentioned not to floor it while in 5th or 6th gear with the gear locked. If you plan to tow a lot of heavy weight just tell him and he will modify your tune to accommodate it. More specifically he will modify your transmission tune to keep your engine and turbos in the right powerband.

You can still WOT while towing, but with anything you need to watch your temps. Think about the stress on the transmission. If you are at high altitude while towing a lot of weight up a mountain and your turbos are nonstop screaming for a long duration you're probably going to build up some heat in your engine as well. Hell, I get increased temps in my Chevy's transmission driving up mountains with no load. Thinner air means less effective oil cooler (which is very large btw) plus extra stress on the transmission from a 5500lb truck. It just happens. You can overheat your engine at higher altitudes too, even without turbos. Less dense air means less convection and less air moved by your fans.

Additionally if you are towing up hill with the stock fuel pump and you are putting a huge demand on it (WOT) for an extended period of time, your pump will likely fail to maintain pressure. Failure to maintain pressure means it leans out and you break things. He recommends the upgraded fuel pump in this circumstance.

Bottom line: There is pretty much no downside to installing turbos. Your truck will act like a factory turbocharged 3.5L because the parts and tune installed will keep it running where it needs to be. It'll be comparable to a Raptor and those tow with no problems. Just be careful at high altitudes.

    Any updates on shipping kits?
I’d love to start moving forward with this. I have everything ready to go and could have it installed and tuned within a week. Two weeks most likely depending how busy Matt is with tuning other kits at the time.

2018 at 70,000+ miles now. At this rate I will have sold the truck by the time the kit comes in.

I am going about this the best way that I can. You will get your kit as soon as I can possibly get it to you. I'm revising a few things based on current feedback. The purpose of which is to make this next shipment go even smoother.

I truly appreciate the patience, it will be worth the wait, and it won't be that much longer.

it will be sent out as soon as humanly possible.

There is a very, very good reason for the current delay. And I will be posting why in a few days. (nothing bad, sinister, etc).

Any updates are always appreciated. We are only getting antsy because we want this kit.
We see a few boosted people out there now and we just want our spoolie boys.
Love all that you do Matt.

Everything is in on mine minus the air plumbing. Install/Fabbing the IC mount today a la Meso's solution (I have the same IC as him) then it'll be time to fire up and tip toe around logging for a little while. Unfortunately, this last part might take a couple weeks due to travel, but getting really excited. What do you guys think about naca ducts or louvres in the hood to either allow more air in or to escape. Louvres seem to be more functional but would it overkill? Ascetically, neither would be my favorite but this all about function.

@OVTune or anybody: I'm doing some back of the napkin calcs on CFM for the intake side. am I correct that stock CFM is ~360 and ~860 with turbos? I wanted to build a snorkel with a pre-cleaner and wondering if that 860 CFM makes it a non-starter due the size the pre-cleaner would need to be. caveat: this is way outside my wheelhouse.
