thank you, is the very high HP more than the "big twin turbo" option you have now?

No, it's the same kit on higher boost. 25psi to be exact.

Great! OVTune, Thanks for the update, great that you share such detail. Having to warm it up is no biggie.

One thing seems wierd to me; if i am following correct, boost sensing will now be measured at the pumps, but it makes sense to me that this is only real, if measured near the throttle body? I assume this somehow controlls the wastegate, so taps so close would certainly reduce actual boost at the engine.

I guess the bottom line is simply defined by performance gains over stock. Looking forward to some dyno comparisons, but seems each should identify where they tapped, along with the data.

Thank you again OVTune, really neet get such detail, feels like we are all part (tiny) of a design team! Determined to add boost!

The boost taps / boost port to control wastegate opening would be right on the turbo cold side. This means as soon as the cold side has achieved the amount of pressure required, the wastegate opens.

During our testing, when we used a boost reference from the manifold (which means the pressure travels all the way from the turbo cold side, through the piping / intercooler, through the intake manifold then to the waste) it would overboost.
The reason is by the time pressure has reached the wastegate, the turbochargers are spinning much faster than needed for 7psi and it overboosts.

by putting the boost reference location at the turbo, the wastegates are in fully control the very moment the turbocharger has achieved the pressure, regardless of what is at the manifold. The engine will still see the same amount of pressure without spiking.

The reason for this change is because boost pressure reference location is *critical* to making sure there are no overboosts.

@OVTune if you want to send me a picture of the boost tap location on the compressor housing I can tap mine there to get some results when we do the logging on my truck.

Going out on a limb here but I think the taps are going here. There is a flat spot in the casting that is designed for this.

Yes depending on application that is where the nipple for boost tap will usually go.

alright since i promised here is my install. it's not pretty yet but function first and I'll clean it up later. it definitely was a long project with holidays, illness, a few hiccups, but after doing it once it would obviously go much quicker. no leaks to speak of at first shot. here are pics and vids. currently, too much silicone and a lot will be replaced with hard pipes. i haven't gone much over 25% throttle but it drives lightyears better than it did, even weighted down. for context, I'm heavily armored, bed cab, 35s, 4.56 gears.
I am aware that my engine is filthy, but this truck gets the crap kicked out of it and it's not meant to be pretty.

videos of first start up. not edited and true to form the first start....charge pipe hitting the fan. second video it purrs.

thanks! generally our work is a bit more surgical then the brute force tactics used on the truck. with the truck, if it's in the way, chop it out. haha

no i fall into the custom category. no ic, no cat downpipes. modified quite a bit to account for the early engine mods.
