speaking of boost guages.. just put in mine and it's all over the place. needle stuck when I know there's boost, then it works just fine, then it's all over the place. going to check for a crimp in the line and I just have one of those mechanical autometer ones.

No. Some people just have to provide some logs / file updates and such (at least that is my guess as to what he is referring to)

 

No people just need the tune fully dialed before going full send

 

I'm just a lazy POS and making videos just isn't really my style. Took forever just for me to put out a basic half assed review vid in the 3GT facebook page.

 

Well, there's the problem.

 

Videos are so underwhelming in my opinion, and don’t show true performance. I’ll make one tomorrow for you guys to prove it. A full throttle 0-70. I think I can get the boost gauge, rpm, speedometer, and road all in one shot.

I tried to get some 0-60 times vs nonturbo’d but I can’t stop my 33’s from spinning in first around 4K. I thought about sticking it in 4wd but I’ll let someone else cross that bridge.

 

Do it in 4wd. Mat isn't wrong about it being awesome. After I removed throttle limts I played around with some wet on-ramps in 4wd. As long as you are either going in a straight line or have limited traction you aren't going to hurt anything. I wouldn't drive around town in 4wd though.

 

You do it in 4wd. Lol. I’m cool with OV doing it, I’ll wait for others to do it before I do.

I totally understand no one wants to be the lab rat, totally reasonable.
When my kit is fully installed and tuned I’ll certainly be doing it. I used to regularly hard 4wd launch for years in my highly modded S/C 2nd Gen all the way to 140 km/hr or so. Never a problem, mind you it’s an entirely different truck, however, to me it just shows with that much abuse I was able to put on it regularly, in addition to regular long towing trips thru the mountains bagging on it etc...and nothing ever happened that I’m confident this Gen Tacoma should be rated similarly in regards to drivetrain components ...is my hope anyways. But who knows, until someone finds the drivetrain limit, I could be joining Meso in the blown engine or tranny department.

 

Have 4wd locked. Roll into it at like 5mph or 10mph then hit it. Won't be as hard like a dead launch revved up then FT.
