I don’t have turbos but I have URD “y” pipe and I’m having the same issue.

Really? That's actually surprising because I thought the URD y-pipe didn't trigger the CEL, because the rear cats aren't monitored? The rear o2's monitor the first set of cats

Yeah it is strange. I haven’t had time to troubleshoot much. I logged data but haven’t done anything with it yet.

That's a strange one. I have the URD Y Pipe as well (for almost 2 years) and no codes whatsoever. Those secondary cats are not monitored at all. Your O2 sensors are before the secondary cats. You should not have a CEL because of that.

If your state has a sniffer test, just put your secondary cats on for the test. Even without the primary cats on there, it may still pass.

Here is my 2 cents. I have a Silverado with long tube headers and high flow cats. At idle my truck can pop a CEL under the right atmospheric conditions because my catalyst is right at the limit and sometimes pops over it and sets it off. I went in with HPTuners and told my computer to not report the error.

Here's why this works. When the emissions testers run my OBD, they aren't looking at my catalyst levels, they are seeing that my O2 sensors are functioning and reporting everything is good to go. I pass emissions every time despite my cats not actually being adequate. This happens because my sensors see the issue and report it, but the computer just ignores it and says it's fine.

    upload_2021-3-30_14-12-53.jpg

So the question is, does VFTuner allow you to leave the sensors in a ready state but to report that everything is fine despite the emissions error? I don't know because I haven't gotten deep into the VFTuner program yet. (I realize we are talking about two different tuning platforms)

Here is the bottom line. Emissions are a finicky thing. Just because one guy's truck has a CEL doesn't mean everyone's will. You can legitimately have two trucks with the exact same everything and one have it and the next not. There could be differences in the catalytic converter build. The sensors could be slightly different. There could be variations in tolerance between model year. Altitude can affect it. Your PCV system effects it. It's a bit of a gamble. I'd be curious to see what the actual O2 readings are with the high flow cats.

In VFTuner the Catalyst Efficiency codes have already been altered. I will be honest, I haven't delved into this program at all yet, but I can see both DTC codes 0420 and 0430 are there. I just don't understand what the program is doing with these two codes. They each have a value of 257.

    TT Calibration Update:

I will be emailing out some tune updates for everyone.

This updated tune covers a lot of things:
    - improved drivability and improved response out of boost
    - significantly improved in boost - mid range RPM fueling
    - Fixes / reduces surge feeling during high to moderate throttle (in boost) under 4000 rpm
    - Fixes misfires/stumbling occurring during full throttle downshift (AT)
    - Fixes misfires/stumbling occuring during full throttle upshift (AT)
    - Eliminates throttle limits during WOT
    - Improves shifting (AT)
    - Improves full throttle shift timing (less delay)
    - Improves high throttle upshift
    - Improves in boost - moderate throttle 5th/6th gear TC Unlock
    - Improves cold start
    - Improves cold driving (however we recommend still staying out of boost during cold driving, at this time)

We have patched a few tables for MAF control, so that adequate fueling is available during transition periods on/off throttle / moderate throttle where the ECU registers it's "1.0" VE but reality VE is higher.

This table is normally available in vF Tuner but is not always used, however with this new version it will be used - full time.

    Fuel pump controller:
The new fuel pump controller (as previously mentioned) will require tapping into 2 wires on the OEM Fuel Pressure sensor

I have the URD Y pipe and I have no CEL. A CEL from the Y-pipe is most likely caused by an exhaust leak from the installation process, I recommend trying to reinstall it from the down pipes back making sure the connection to the downpipes is perfect.

I am hoping the TT tundra is the 416 hp twin turbo 3.5 that everyone is expecting.
I will definitely be buying one.
My 13 year old son will get my Tacoma.
My tacoma is 5.5 years old already- bought it in October 2015.

Ignition would be too high on a normal 2.0 map for a SC and vvt would need retuning, among other things

This morning I removed my Doug Thorley y-pipe and reinstalled the OEM one.

I'm wondering if I had a small exhaust leak because the bolts on the connection from downpipe to y-pipe were barely more than finger-tight.

Also cleared my o2 sensor CEL again and went for a drive. 30mi without it coming back. Doesn't mean much since last time it returned at 75mi or so, but if it was due to a possible exhaust leak..... we'll see I guess.

Edit: the Doug Thorley y-pipe is for sale btw. El Paso, TX. Don't want to ship. Also have my OE primary catalytic converters for sale too if anyone happens to need or want them. Seeing as the material inside is valuable...lol

So what all is left to get done to get the rest of the kits out the door?
