For the record, I know you "can't keep sending me parts" but I've only requested a part once before, and when it turned out it wasn't needed, I offered to return it with my own money. You elected to pay for the shipping label afterwards.

I didn't know if these gaskets were something you had specific to the kit or whatever, that we would need to source from you. I apologize for asking.

I'm not blaming the kit or you, I know better than anyone else, yourself included, what's been going on with this situation. I'm just fed up with this shit and not desperate to spend the rest of my time constantly fixing this truck/kit from here on out. I'm aware that you need to clarify publicly for people that this is not the fault of the product and you've successfully done that I think.

As for the issue, who fucking knows. But under cold start it immediately has an exhaust leak sound that definitively comes from the passenger side area, somewhere around the turbo or exhaust mani maybe, idk. You can smell a bit of fuel. Under cold start it's immediately audible, sounds like a Model T lawnmower. As the idle rpms lower down/settle, it becomes less audible but it's still there. In addition, this time I popped a CEL for now running too lean. So I'm having the time of my life over here chasing down every thing that could possibly keep popping up

Well, I'd have to look up diesel performance shops I suppose because the only shop I know of that does diesel too is the shop that initially did the install and once I started having issues and contacting them for help, they began ignoring me.

For the record, you are learning every in and out of this turbo kit. Typically you get that intimate knowledge when installing a kit yourself. Seems the universe wanted you to get that firsthand knowledge, so you wouldn't be dumbstruck in the event of a problem. Pretty soon, should you forge through, you'll be the one that people come to for advice, since you've encountered so many experiences.

Get them. The potential is high that the new shop had to pull the header to work on that broken stud/bolt. Not having had a new gasket, they would have had to reuse the old one.

@Sleipnir can relate quite well to your adventures in this kit. As the shops he dealt with left him the ability to learn every intimate detail of his kit and more. (Different kind of kit but parallel)

Yeah last week I came to realize that I've been over so much of this kit myself with tightening up stuff and ensuring no leaks and whatever else that I'm much more familiar with the setup than I expected to be. Really all I haven't traced myself at this point are the oil and fuel lines.

I ordered them. Unfortunately they won't arrive until Wednesday it looks like. The Turbo-DP gaskets may be here sooner.

I'd like to be clear, that when I'm not having these various hardware issues, the truck drives beautifully. I'm just getting increasingly frustrated and I have not been blaming Mat or his kit for this, but I will not pretend that I am not allowed to have limits to my patience either.

We're all human and have our various limits and frustrations and anybody who pretends otherwise is lying or naive.

You are well within into your right to voice your frustration and it’s actually beneficial to others, while it sucks that you are having these issues, it is now documented and future kit owners can keep an eye out or help find a solution. I personally don’t take it as you are pointing fingers at any particular person or shop but just stating your issue. Once we have more kits out and see who’s having what issues then we can better sort out who’s issues are whose.

@OVTune , so far I have a box of parts enough to build a nice potatoe gun with, when is box 2 of 2 with the turbos, manifolds, fuel pump, and controller arriving?

mZiggy i feel for you. Reason #1 why if anyone installs something like this Turbo or SC on my truck it would need to be by my hands only. your issues or lack of qc on install isnt uncommon at all. Just go on any forum and you will find them.

It's ironic that I did want to install it myself, but I had nearly zero time available with my previous employer, so I gave it to a shop to take care of.

Now I've changed employers and have much more time available lol.

I am installed and running great with the exception of the pending tune. I def know the in's and out's of this setup now and can quickly glance around to ensure nothing is going to a problem. I did find that my driver's side oil return somehow slipped out of it's fab'd up retaining ring and was rubbing against the front driveshaft. Almost coulda been a problem.
