    I wasn't aware you'd already driven a turbo 3rd gen tacoma..

As long as the turbo isn't massive (looks like he's gonna use an EFR 7163, which my 2 liter L4 drift car spools at 3200 rpm with no load), it'll have plenty of torque between 2-3k.

I for one am really looking forward to the Tesla truck. I'd love something that actually has torque, and if it really has the 400-500 miles range they're claiming I may well make the jump.

Definitely, but not very fast. They're still lion batteries, and are still capable of leaving you stranded if they discharge under stressful conditions. Until battery technology improves dramatically, I would hesitate to trust one of those far out in the wilderness, especially since I couldn't just radio for a jerry can of electricity :)

Doesn't stop me from investing heavily in $TSLA, or being extremely excited about the potential for our vehicles in 5-15 years, but it's the truth right now as far as I understand it.

You could just as easily puncture your gas tank.

Yeah anyways.....like think how unlikely something as utterly reliable, simple, and straight forward a modern gasoline engine is!! Like just replace the gizmotronic whatchamahoozit and yer good to get rolling.

Fuck me......when the internal combustion engine is gone, I’ll say good riddance.

DON'T EVEN JOKE! I've been stranded pretty good on a motorcycle ride due to this very thing.

Maybe I have? Maybe I haven't? Please tell me the benefit of starting with an intake manifold that makes LESS torque than stock. Congrats on being a drifter btw

    So you haven’t...

Packaging concerns for one, like Matt stated. More horsepower AND torque up top for two.

And thanks, its more fun than a torquey stock manifold v6 tacoma any day of the week

I've never punctured a gas tank but have killed many a battery.
If you want more torque and better throttle response on 4L and I assume the 3.5L is the same. Remove the secondary charcoal filter. It's behind the primary and does nothing but soak up gas after shutdown and restrict airflow going down the road, especially under acceleration!

    Really: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1JmOKKAgyQ

I'm confused why this is thought to be a great idea.

Nice, thanks, I may be doing this, I’m emissions exempt driving under 5k miles a year.

A 4% performance gain is incredible with just removing the charcoal filter

It's effective for a small gain, but I would say not really worth the effort. Let us know I guess.

Clean up any stragglers. You don't want them cooking on the MAF elements.
