Agreed. I want torque, down low in the rpm range, and if a byproduct of however that happens is more hp elsewhere, I'm okay with that. I love driving my URD supercharged 4.0 X-Runner. And I'd love to give my 3rd gen similar torque/horsepower characteristics.

Alrighty man. If you lighten up a bit you'll realize this is an amazing community of people.

2GR-FSE, although I don't think people would like a rotrex style setup, but it does show that toyota engines can handle good power on stock bottom end.

Most centrifugal setups shine up top. They don't deliver immediate torque at low rpm.

@OVTune how is the fuel system looking so far? Are you planning on keeping the fuel system stock?

    Mostly stuff I built.
Any thoughts on teaming with Harrop for the Tacoma?
Seems like a refitted TVS1900 like they assemble for the 2grfe in the Lotus Exige might be viable option for lower boost levels. Especially for the DIY crowd less parts to change out and keep tabs on. Less heat in the engine bay as well.

I just need some boost for 2020... That will hold me over until the 4th gen release. Then we can do this all over again :burnrubber:

Centrifugal blowers are a belt driven turbocharger pretty much, some models can spin upwards of 70K rpm, so their not much on low end power and mostly don't sing till over 2500-3000rpm area

Sincerely sorry to hear about your relative but honestly, WTF does that have to do with your posts criticizing Matt's turbo kit on the Tacoma forum? Bro, you are TOO sensitive. Lets please get back to talking shop about the turbo so we can get this kit on our Taco's!

I bet in the end it was possible, just not realistic. Also, with only one, it’s one less turbo to potentially fail. Sure, there are some disadvantages, but I think the advantages of a single snail setup will outweigh the disadvantages in the long run. If I remember correctly, Mat was talking about using an EFR turbo. Having ran these in the past, I can say they are top tier and great performers. Some of the best around in terms of quality and technology.

Completely agree. EFRs are top notch and so are the new G series from Garrett. I am going to run two 7163's on my ecoboost and even just one on the Tacoma would be a huuuge boost with the right supporting mods
