For days now, I've been trying to pull the system I.d. to email and receive tunes/files.
I'm sure my lack of computer skill is a big factor in this.
So, this $700 Christmas gift is turning into a huge frustrating disaster.
Knowing that I cant get a refund, even tho I haven't received a single file, anyway I can sell my purchase to someone else? I'll take a loss but currently i fear $700 has just been flushed....
Or anyone in the grand junction colorado area some this before and can help a guy out?

Is this your first attempt at help? Seems aggressive.

I see no aggression here. Frustration maybe...but no. I have asked before and was directed to the websight. Where I have tried time after time to follow the direction. At keastbto the best of my ability. There are steps the sight seams to be missing. At least I encounter more from the computer than the sight shows.
As stated, I'd gladly accept any help someone could offer, otherwise I feel I have done all I know to do and cant even get a system ID. Pretty frustrating...

Perhaps try to describe where exactly you’re stuck at, what you’re seeing, what you’re not seeing, that way the helpful people of this forum can offer some assistance. Screenshots help.

Following OVT’s very detailed instructions, I found the process rather straightforward and I’m not all that computer savvy.

    Like, so many.
May be a dumb question, but did you try YouTube or calling OVT?

Ok. From this screen, I'm supposed to be able to see my system ID. Nothing is coming up.

I haven't received the actual handheld yet. It was due to arrive Saturday so i expect it soon.
I was informed I could, and should, get my system I.d. and other info out before it arrives. In an attempt to save time. This is what I'm trying to do now

Color Me Taco, I'm in Durango & can offer nothing but sympathy. I've asked here locally for somebody with the necessary expertise or experience in the tune installation & came up empty.
I wish there was an online bulletin board of state by state experienced volunteers to assist in installation or even franchised experts who could accomplish installations for a reasonable fee.
I read on the OV tune site where Matt has recommended against purchase unless the purchaser has a modicum of computer experience & this disqualified me from the start.
Good luck & please post if you find somebody in CO who can & will assist.

I can’t help you all that much with the tablet, but from my understanding you need to use PCMflash.

Did you click on P5 flash utility?

    https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0885/5830/files/Tacoma_NEW_instructions.pdf

According to the instructions its supposed to bring up another window called "ToyFlash" which should have your ID. If the window doesn't pop up, the instructions say to disable your anti-virus AND windows defender.

This is where its stuck. From P5flash nothing happens. No other screen comes up. Now I'm trying to find a way to allow the virus protection on the computer to let it run.

Yeah that's probably the issue then... Anti virus or defender is preventing it from popping up.

I saw this, but was unsure where the OP was stuck. With his post below, I can help a bit.

This seems to be all that you need:
    upload_2020-1-13_7-34-25.jpg

Can you do a screen dump after this?

Also, did you do the Purge All Data and Update functions? See 1min into the video here:
    https://www.ovtuned.com/pages/tacoma-3-5-flash-kit-instructions

Be sure that you have all antivirus turned off for the initial installation including malware and ransomware. After the installation is complete, turn that stuff back on and allow anything that pops up when you launch the OVT software.

All tuning programs like this, including TechStream act like viruses but are completely safe.

The video is what I used and had my laptop in truck with me and cell phone turned on for the video. Followed step by step no issues. I’m at work and can’t run through the steps or I would but if you watch the video it’s spot on step by step. You can pause during each step if needed.

I dont know what a screen dump is. :-(

Matt has replied to an email and I think/hope I found the I.D. I'll know for sure if Matt comfirms this.

Def seams an antivirus was causing frustration to this point.

Screen Print, Screen Shot, Print Screen. All the same. Like the pic that you posted above, but there are easier ways than snapping a pic with your camera. Try the Screen Print key, then just Paste it into the TW posting window (CTRL+P).

Or, Shift+Win Key+S (all three at the same time) for the Snipping Tool and then paste.

The System ID should look like I posted above, with the words System ID.

Just turn it off for the time that you are dealing with the OVT installation. Don't be afraid to uninstall and start fresh. Always do the Purge and Update steps. I have no idea how the HHs work, but you'll need to install those drivers when you get it.

I haven't installed any drivers. ?? I saw no mention of that in the instructions to this point.
Does that come later? Is that a step that will be covered during the actual tune upload?
