but you're saying to check it, it only takes 20 minutes? seems like they would be harder to get to than 20 minute job...

Just take off the throttle body, and remove the air surge tank. You dont even have to conpletely remove it just enough to inspect the injector and the seals.

A small handful of select mods.
Have you also tried some BG 44k in the tank to clean out the system? What grade fuel do you usually use and from what type of station? Big name or neighborhood one off? In the current economy the neighborhood one offs could be buying some shit and also letting their tanks get to the very bottom before they refill.

That won't change your current situation but it is a thought.

injector seals are pointless to check, if we checked fuel pressure ahead of the fuel rail and it was 20 psi....

Bg 44 has been used a couple times in the past...usually use conoco or shell or loaf n jug

Yea next step is pump but always good to have more options if shit don't work

Thanks again for testing that jace..glad we have it narrowed down now

Check the fuel pressure regulator. With no vacuum it will have more pressure but if the regulator got suck for some reason that could cause your problem.

Gadget @ urd mentioned the fuel pressure regulator possibility too..dk how to test that tho

I'll see if I can check the front sensors but that wouldnt effect my fuel pressure tho?

The easiest way to test the regulator is to pinch the return line closed if you can. Pinch it closed, and if you get your 40 psi..........then it's bad.

The bottom line is the return line

True. Did you dead head the pump when you tested the pressure?

Dead head means that you had the gauge hooked up to the fuel line only; meaning it was just a straight shot from the pump to the gauge and nothing else. If you did it like it showed in the FSM, you were testing the pressure on the fuel rail also which includes the injector seals and the regulator.

does not sound like it was dead head method...dead head would have been tested by the tank?

i checked in line. meaning the fuel pressure continued onto the rail and regulator. its how we diag all of our pumps. it started and slowly, i mean slowly raised to 20 psi.
