    I’ve said this before with others that have had head issues. Monkey Wrench Racing for heads. Check them out give them a call. Way cheaper than Toyota. And the parts they can build the heads with are well past stock standards.

    I would definitely call Toyota customer relations to see if they can help out. They don’t usually completely cover these repairs but can often get Toyota to foot part of the bill (as has happened in the past to people with valve issues).

    That is kind of poor for the dealership to not offer a loaner on a $7k job. I know shops that would have you on your way to Enterprise getting a full size for free for a job like that.

    Good luck man. I just dealt with this issue. Took me 5 months to find a decent independent shop but paid $5500 for a new head, valves, and the rest of the goodies. $7k at a dealership isn’t bad compared to the $12k quotes at my local dealerships.

    I’ve talked to a few different Toyota techs online and they’ve all said it’s most common in the 17-19’s but by no means is it a very common problem. Seems to mostly go away after 2019. Sucks either way.
