Paint Bubbling

Hi everyone,

I was hoping for a little assistance and guidance on this issue I just saw.

It seems like the entire length of my doors of both sides are bubbling. Has anyone seen this before?

The truck has 14K miles on it and with zero off roading and regular washes. It is really strange in that it is happening on both sides of the truck. Looks almost natural. Gonna head to dealership this week. WTF!!!

They all have that. Its extra thick paint to help against chipping.

 

That's called orange peel, and they all have it. They spray the trucks extra heavy at the rock chip line. It's supposed to make the paint stronger and resistant to chipping.

It's supposed to be like that. Kinda like extra protection against rocks and shit.

You have a 3rd gen, you'll have plenty an opportunity to sit in the dealership maintenance waiting area.

I'd worry more about your differential. That paint is normal. They have been doing that since 2005. Seriously though check your rear diff for leaking

 

drade... had that done a few weeks ago... nothing found... whew
