Hey guys, I know this is the 1st gen taco thread but it's a question about the chrome grill. I have an 06 Tacoma in radiant red and wanted to color match my grill w my trucks radiant red.

What tips do you guys suggest to make the chrome completely transformed into radiant red? Like using Sand paper etc... Thx

    LOOKS GREAT MAN!! nice job

I think a black bumper would look awesome, especially a Plate-style bumper, but idk if you need that sorta thing

Color matched grill surround looks best.

IMO the black (on anything other than a black truck) looks like a Lone Ranger mask

edit: upon further reading, other than post #1, I see you color matched.

    Looks awesome

Thread jack question. Does the grill just have tabs? Or is it glued on? I want to pull mine off and paint it as well. Thanks.:threadjacked:

If you are talking about the grill, the thing that is circled in red in attachment 1. Yes it is held in by tabs and glue. I haven't seen anybody who has actually taken this out without using a hacksaw or dremel.

If you are talking about the grill surround, all the chrome in the second attachment. That piece is just held in by tabs that can easily be popped out with a screwdriver.
