Hi everyone!! My name is Karen and I am a new member! I need some help with something. I have a 07 Tacoma SR5 4dr. that I purchased new in February of 2007. I love my truck and I have not had many issues with it. I have 44K miles on it now. I take good care of my truck, but I have had a couple issues that are not mechanical come up. One is the overhead compass and temp. It just stopped working about 3 weeks ago. I also found a spot in the paint on the hood yesterday when I was washing it. It made me sick. The paint on my truck is silver and the spot is about the size of a quarter. It looks like the clear cracked, but it is raised. I'm sure that Toyota will tell me that something got on the paint, but I don"t think so. If something splattered on my truck it have more than one spot.

My question is: Has anyone else had any problem with the paint on their 2007 tacoma? I am not familliar with Toyota paint issues. If anyone out there can shed some light on this or know some facts on paint please help me... I appreciate any knowledge on this issue.

    Sincerely,
    Karen

Welcome to TW. I would have to say that toyota paint is sub par. I personally have never had an issue such as you speak of but there are tons of us out there that feel our paint is prone to chipping.

Welcome. There is a fix for the compass/temp. Do a search and you shall find it.

Did anything get on the paint that was left unattended for a period of time-like bird poop for instance. bird poop is acidic and can damage the paint if left on the vehicle.

I appreciate you telling me about the compass/temp. fix.

Nothing was on the paint. When I see bird poop on my truck, I rinse it off!!
