I bought a 12' utility trailer that is painted red right now. I am going to change it to black. Not going to chunk off a ton of money in this, but want it to look presentable too. I'm thinking about buying a car type spray paint gun from Harbor Freight to spray on the paint.

My question is, I've got a small 5gal pancake air compressor, will this provide enough air to do this project ? Also, is there a particular kind of paint I need to look for to cover the metal on this trailer ?

    Thanks for any help.
