PAINTED STOCK RIMS

Has anyone painted there stock rims themselves that have a black sand pearl with the off road rims is so can i see some pictures

This is a picture before I finished the wheels. I put a red vinyl around the wheel.

 

I did light sanding. I also used primer on the wheels. For the wheel paint, I used Duplicolor wheel paint. No chips, no peeling. Make sure that's the way you wanna go cause once you start sanding there's no going back.

I will try to take a picture of the finished wheels tonight to post, it looks totally different with the red vinyl.

Here it is...Crappy cel phone pic but you get the idea.

 

I like it it looks good I saw another one that had the toyota emblem in the center red it looked pretty good to.

 

If you do it, be patient it takes time to paint it right. I used sandable primer from duplicolor and you can sand off imperfections. Once you got it right, you can go ahead and paint the wheels.

How on earth do you keep things from getting in the paint? Whenever I paint, stuff lands all in the paint while it's drying.
