    Good Afternoon,
I have owned my Taco since high school, and am coming upon the 10 year reunion. I have used the truck from anything from offroad/trail use, motocross riding, salt water fishing(canoe on top of truck), and the paint is done. It is time to repaint, but the lowest, I have seen around is 3-4 thousand for the whole truck. Doing roof/hood(bad parts) roughly 800-1000. Does anyone know of anyone in Tampa Bay who is trust worthy/ reasonably priced? I have been considering having it painted to the Skyway blue the newers Tacomas come in. It is currently black.

I wouldn't do just the roof because the paint would never match to the 14 year old stuff.

Cant recommend someone near you but private shops can be cheaper and found in local listings.

Looks like you use the truck offroad a bit. Have you considered doing the whole truck in bedliner? Nowadays you can get it in any color not just black.

Yeah that's the first question I asked was if the paint could be feathered to match. They said it could, cause other than roof/hood the paint is in pretty decent shape. I have considered the rhino lining the whole truck, I still haven't ruled it out. The truck sitting currently is around 245,000 miles. Do you know approximate cost to cover the whole truck with bed liner?

Black is black unless it's a metallic, paint will always match...

You could always just Plasti Dip the whole truck in whatever color you want for less than $75 most likely. Just touch up with a few sprays here and there when needed, and it pulls right off when youre ready to go another route. Did all the chrome on my 04 with black plasti dip and it looks/holds up great.

Theres a member on here that dipped his entire Tacoma, cant remember his username but the pics looked good

diy monstaliner is looks good comes in all types of colors has best texture and is tough as nails if prep is done correctly. I got a quote for line x and it was like 2500-3000 and up and only comes in black. Monstaliner is the route I am going in like 5 yrs when my paint is even worse. There is a few members on here that have done it.

B&M Bodywerks in Clearwater should be on your shopping list.

No good shop is going to be cheap to do a full repaint, as the prep is time consuming and the materials are very pricey. When you consider decent housepaint is over $40/gal now, imagine what 1st rate automotive paint runs!

You can always get a budget job at a box store like Macco. Some aren't bad if they have managers/staff who care about prep work. But the details of removing things & overspray cleanup will be limited, and the paint quality is usually second tier. If it lasts a couple years you'll be lucky.

It's hard to spend that much on a vehicle that age and mileage, especially since you use it as it was meant to be used. So, I second the Monstaliner consideration. www.monstaliner.com

While the spray versions look great, the roller versions are quite acceptable too. And you could do that at home, one panel at a time. Just something to consider.
