I would like to paint fender flares with a black texture, such as Line-X. Has anyone done it themselves?

I did mine using Rustoleum truck bed liner in a rattle can. I scuffed them with sand paper, sprayed them with primer, then a few coats of the liner. These are the only pics I have on my phone, but I can take some more in a bit if you would like.

That's what I'm looking for, looks good. Did you take fenders off or just tape in place? I see some videos on youtube on how to remove them. Also, did it take more than one day?

I took them off and did it in a weekend. I probably could have finished in a day, but wanted to take my time and get it right. I sprayed the primer and let it dry all day, then sprayed the liner and let it dry overnight and reinstalled on the truck the next afternoon.

If you remove them, order some replacement clips, you will break most of them.

You can also order the rubber that goes along the edge, but I just glued mine back on.

You might also find someone who's willing to trade your colored fenders for their stock Matte black fenders

They are holding up pretty well. There are some rock chips on the lower front edge of the rear ones but other that they still look pretty good
