The blistering winds that ripped through Southern California on Wednesday reached speeds so high that they could not be accurately recorded at the peak of Mammoth Mountain, according to a park spokesperson who estimated winds gusted up to 170 miles per hour.

We get them every year but this one is now deemed the strongest on decades. It was pretty bad. A lot of cities still don't have power due to downed power lines. Wind storm was wednesday night

These winds came from a different direction then usual, thats why there was more damage in areas like Pasadena that dont usually get the full force of the winds. I have been through a lot of these and it wasnt the worst one in my area (7 miles from Pasadena).
Mt Wilson, above Pasadena, recorded 102 mph winds.

At least it hadn't rained right before, that is the real tree killer.

The Santa Ana winds are back..already there are several big rigs that have blown over onto their sides on the 15 at the Canon Pass.
