    Anyone have the same schematics for the Tacoma? I’d be curious to see how similar to the ones posted above, I know they won’t be there but I want to compare everything else being the same. @Victory how did you deduce which wires to tap into in the first place?

    Seems that someone already tried using these pins in the other thread, and it didn't work. I am a bit surprised, but who knows what the firmware looks like.

    True, if the firmware isn't written to look for it, it will never matter, nor work. Good point. By the way welcome to TW!

    You may notice if you look close at the pic of my Smart Key ECU in the first post that pins 1&2 aren’t empty and do have pins and black wires coming out. This is something I have tried and unfortunately this still doesn’t work.
    I have wiring diagrams for the Tacoma and Highlander on my laptop, (I can send them tomorrow if you want them) they both use the same ECU, and everything is the same except those two pins. I believe there is programming involved the the main ecu which keeps the taco from having this feature. The smart key ecu is actually referee to as a certification ecu, and is tied to the main vehicle ecu.
    The handle isn’t a simple switch either, closing the circuit of those two wires isn’t going to do anything, there is a lot more going on in there than that.

    I recommend you read the other thread on this, should be the first link in my first post.

    I just placed my order, no back order so far, fingers crossed. And if I got lucky, then call a Lexus dealership if you don’t want to wait, I confirmed it to be the exact same part number.

    Thanks. So far so good? Any hiccups or lagginess now that it's tapping off the drivers side? Does the driver side lag or same amount of time when touching for it to register and open?

    Im stoked for this....cant tell you HOW many times (daily?) in the past few weeks I have tried to open passenger side to get the kids in....and then have to fumble for the remote someplace deep in a pocket. This is a game changer!

    Oh Yeah! I am loving my passenger door smart handle! I use to always have to pull my keys out of my back pack just to unlock the pass door, now just grab the handle. This by far has been the BEST and most useful mod i have done to my truck to date, along with the tailgate pop n lock and hood struts!

    Parts on order again.... if they tell me they are on back order, I'm going to just say hold my money until I get the parts or call you back.

    Were they the same place that initially refunded your order because of the back ordered connector?

    @Victory @TacoTruck808 @EagleUSMCRet

    Gentlemen, what gauge are the ECU wires in your opinion, last time I saw them I thought about 18..I’m trying to match my wire extension so the taps I use are the correct size and make good contact...any suggestions on taps? I've heard Positaps being thrown around..any specific ones? Thanks!

    A penny cheaper, but who's counting. Different vendor though.

    Just FYI I got ship notification today from Mcgeorge toyota online parts for all 4 parts. 180.53$ shipped. Ordered a couple of weeks ago.

    Since I hadn't chimed in yet on the thread but was lurking silently, I must say great thread and great job by @Victory, I'm excited to try this - like others have said, it's far too often that I'm on the passenger side wishing it was openable.

    I believe the factory wires are probably 22 gauge. The OD was about the same in both my 24 gauge speaker wire and the factory wires, but my speaker wire seemed a little thinner inside with thicker rubber insulation outside which makes me think the factory wires are 22 gauge.
    Red positaps are probably the best thing to go with. You can’t buy them in any stores I’ve seen, you would have to order them online.
