Thanks for the info. The rattle/tick is not a constant pulse and is definitely more random (thinking it's not driveline because of this). I'm hoping that it's the A-pillar and will reply back to the thread with my findings this weekend.

Between the dash and the windshield, all the way to the right side. Hasn't made a peep since, and I forgot the napkins were even there.

Yeah sorry but I'm stuffing napkins in the dash of my brand new truck lol. I bought a roll of felt tape on Amazon. Something like 50 feet was 9 bucks. Shitty we even have to do that but it's more "right" than napkins.

I'll replace the napkins in the spring, but right now the napkins are performing beyond Toyota spec, and you can't even see them.

The flaws of the Tacoma don't bother me too much. What does bother me, however, is that when trying to get the flaws legitimately fixed by the dealership, it's like pulling teeth with those bastards. They just play dumb and/or use their default "can not replicate" response, waste everybody's time, and then you're on your own. Then, when you do try and fix the flaw yourself (since you know the dealership won't do shit), you might break a clip when prying something open (or worse), which then you need to go to the dealership to pay for what you broke. It's a vicious, frustrating cycle. I wish my local dealership had better customer service.

    I couldn't agree more.

That's why I take care of everything myself. I can't give them the satisfaction of wasting my time.

It's the center console. Mine is right by the passenger side lamp light. It only happens when it's cold, until the heat kicks in. If I hold it up, it doesn't rattle

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/roof-liner-rattle-driving-me-crazy.415868/page-2#post-14157633

Thread exists to fix it, but none seem to TRDOR. I'm trying to see if the headliner has to come off on TRDOR since there have to be a mess of wires under that thing.

Thanks for the info! I am thinking about puling the headliner myself, but I'd really like to find instructions or a video on how to do it right.

I had the same issue. Same noise when temps are cooler/cold. I pulled the A pulled trim and put mole skin on the tabs and on the side of the speaker grill which is not in view when everything is back together. Moleskin stuck to the plastic very well.
Total time for for was less than 10". Thanks for the info guys.

I had the same ticking from in the video I'm located in Saskatchewan so I mostly hear it during the winter months, my girlfriend hit s pot hole recently and now I have a rumble noise from the passenger side it sounds like loose plastic bumping around on start up. Could it be the same issue only aggravated from the pothole being hit?

I've tried most of the fixes listed in the threads and unfortunately, the annoying sound always returns after a few days. Decided to pull the A frame panel and speaker cover (thanks to the OP) this morning and reseated the form insulator on the panel. Also add mole skin to anything that looked like it might rub. So far, so good!! Test rides are positive with no sound from the A frame area. Will update after a few days.

Question, what's the round plastic push clip on the speaker cover for? Clipped in, mine was loose, so I added mole skin to the clips and reseated.

Awesome, thanks for the update! Mine is still quiet after several thousand miles and it's been cold here for a few months. Please update with good or bad results later if the noise does come back.

Not sure which round push clip you're talking about. The only round thing on the cover is the light sensor that actuates your DRL and light dimming functions.

It's the round part in the pic. I was thinking a tweeter for the higher end model.

Anyone getting a rubbing sound from their A pillars down near the dash speaker? Any time I hit a bump in the road that flexes my front suspension a little bit, it sounds like someone is rubbing two pieces of cloth together. Drives me nuts.

I'm getting a sound similar to that up in the headliner near the rear view mirror now, but I'll leave it for now.
For your issue, I'm thinking it's the adhesive backed foam that's shifted. Might want to try pulling it apart as shown in my original post.

Mine sounded just like it was by the rear view mirror, but it turned out to be coming from the far right side upper corner of the dash. Acoustics can play tricks on your ears.

I pushed on it this morning. I think the adhesive has come undone for the insulating foam in there. It made the same sound all across the headliner 1 foot or so away from the mirror.
I agree with those sounds coming from all over messing with your ears. Some can't be replicated.

On another note, how are those new KB VOODOO baskets coming along? :)
