Thanks again @GPsevinSixx - my silver radio surround creaks too. For some reason that is less bothersome to me. Do you recall easily how to loosen the glove box? Looks like maybe there is a screw accessible once the side lid is removed. Thanks.

@GPsevinSixx - FYI -- I figured out the process for removing the textured pad. @Broccoli posted the Toyota service manual in one of the dash removal threads. I spent too much time again today chasing down my rattle. I really believe it's related to the ducting that exits at the passenger dash speaker grate. I foamed that ducting until it couldn't move but still have the rattle. More muted but still there. Sounds just like the a-pillar rattle many have recorded. But I drove without my a-pillar and it's the same. Driving me bananas. I can't figure it out. Appt with dealer in a week. Thanks for your help and suggestions.

Ok so I made sure the foam tape on the air bag panel was very tight and I also added some foam tape to the outside of the air bag and speaker panel. I also took apart the passenger kick panel and made sure nothing was loose as well.

So far so good but I'm still sceptical that this will be a permanent fix. That damn rattle was driving me crazy so it was nice to drive to work without it for once.

    Spoke too soon.

    Damn rattle is back.

I'm taking the entire dash apart next.

    I have a slight rattle - sometimes....

seems like its coming from the passenger side pillar.
but it does not do it all the time. this morning it rattled on my way to work.
last weekend on a long trip on terrible interstate roads not a peep.

Pulled apart my dash and found a working harness mounted to a stand with a loose washer. Taped it up and so far so good, but once again still sceptical. I did paint my trim red though since I had it off.

I also did notice a lot of loose foam tape that is used on the vents. I made sure they were nice and tight as well.

OP, thank-you! BTW, that Tesa tape is the bomb. Wish I had known about it years ago.

IMHO this yellow plug is the real culprit cause I did the dash fix and the airbag fix and kick panel fix and it still rattled.

So I took apart everything and went for a drive to see what was rattling and this plug had washers that are loose. Taped those down and no issues so far. Also there was a a lot of loose foam insulation so I made sure to rub them down so they would stick.

Hit me up if you need help taking apart the dash.

    not enough.
Hey All, So I've read through this thread and went through OP's original suggestions. I pulled my A pillar off and looked at everything on it. I think the sound that I'm hearing is the pillar foam. You may have different source of your sound. Annoying as I'll get out. I haven't found an elegant solution yet to the adhesive but for anyone who is curious,

Here are some videos that illustrate the issue and why I think my ticking/rattling sound is the adhesive. Turn up your volume and you can hear the sounds.
General overview of the foam + adhesive on the pillar plastic. Near the end, you can see me pushing the foam lightly and you can definitely hear ticking/tacking of the adhesive.

Video that shows the foam adhesive when it is cold. Notice how easily I can pull the foam back from the plastic when it should be adhering. Horrible choice of adhesive here.

Video that shows the foam adhesive when it is warm. Notice how difficult it is to pull the foam back from the plastic. Adheres very well.

Has anyone tried replacing the foam with something better like weather stripping? Is the foam even necessary? It has to be that because I've felt taped pretty much every contact point and it still makes the sound. So annoying.

Weird but mine seemed to go away for the entire summer and now with the colder weather setting in, it seems to be back.
