The dealer (service department) is trying to tell me the capacity of my truck is 1200# yet the sales brochure states 1375#.

I have a 2009 Double Cab PreRunner Long Bed - V6, Automatic transmission, TRD Sport, and Towing Package.

I checked the window sticker and it does't state anything on there (only towing capacity). Can anyone help?

Go with what you have in writing. The dealer is always trying to cover Toyota's butt.

Keep in mind that 1375# probably includes the weight of gas and passengers.

Did you have the rear spring TSB done? Because if not you can only haul like 700Lbs before it bottoms out on all bumps...
After tSB on my Access cab I have had 800Lbs with no bottoming out.

No suspension TSB. This was the second visit for the TSB (plus nine calls to Toyota!). They say it does not qualify being it is a 2009 model year...and that they overloaded it with 1380# and it didn't bottom out when driving around the parking lot. I told them "if it doesn't bottom out, why are the bump-stops leaving marks on my frame?"

Of course I didn't want to turn this into a TSB thread...as I am still not done with these effers. Got a Toyota case manager calling me today.

I was just trying to get clarification on the payload. Thanks though. ;)

What's in the door frame, is the legal load limit. LE can enforce those stickers if they want to be pricks.

Dealers are so full of it sometimes.

I'm a landscaper & had 1/2 yard +/- 800# in the truck yesterday with fresh raised flower bed compost. The truck sat pretty darn low in the back with the TSB done on my 06 DC 4WD.

Try a different dealer. A few here have had it done successfully on 2009s.
Even with the TSB the truck will bottom out on occasion w/ TSB!

xedge, your a landscaper...cool. I am what you would call an amateur landscaper. ;) I found that 1-1/2 yards of triple shred hardwood bark will regularly bottom out. The guys at Mulch Masters said a yard weighs 250#...but English is not their first language and that seems awfully light to me. Maybe 250kg?

I had 800Lbs of shingles in my truck over the weekend, It did sit awful low, But didn't bottom out like it did with 720Lbs of plaster in the back before the TSB.

Oh, white bread, I have a 2009, And had the TSB done. the dealer did come at me first and say that Toyota said it has been updated. When I mentioned why it only had 3 leaf springs. and the TSB calls for four leaf springs. also that it bottomed out with only 750Lbs i it. the dealer agreed with my tottal and said they will find some way to do it.

Grrrrrr! So my Toyota Case Manager just called and said they have to trust their dealership's report that the truck isn't bottoming out and that 2009 models have been updated. Plus it only covers 4x4 (which I corrected them on). Complete BS!

Can anybody suggest a dealer within a ~3 hour driving distance of Raleigh (27614) who does the TSB without hassle?

Any suggestions on a dealer? Maybe one in Charlotte? Fayeteville? Southern Virginia? Charlottesville, VA?

Funny you mention the frame rot issue. Considering DANA Corporation provided them to Toyota.
