Save yourself the headache. Get the stock filter from Honda. It's not your typical dirt bike motor. A friend of mine bought a SS filter off ebay for his cbr and it seized his motor. Crf250l has the same motor. Also make sure u put the filter in the right way or you will have the same result. Another bonus with the stock filter is that you can pick up the seal at the same time. Good luck with your build. Mine is proving to be a tank and hasn't given me a lick of trouble even after countless drops. I even dropped it going about 30 mph and it flew off a skidder bridge and landed in a brook. Picked it up and drove off ( with bent handle bars and broken mirrors lol)

How did a SS filter cause engine failure? I'm not a fan of them, but can't see how one would cause failure.

If it's the same filter as the 4wheelers you can get Em at auto arts store too.

Finally had all of the paperwork needed to get it titled and registered.

Apparently the dealer was supposed to give me an inspection sticker, still don't have that.

More money spent... Bought a Zeta clutch lever, brake lever, and hand guards with integrated blinkers.

    Like this, but black.

That's going to look really good. I have been thinking about duals and now after riding my friends this will definitely be a top choice. Did you try any others before you chose the Honda?

Not really, I only did research and looked at a few.

This was my first dual sport to ever ride. There are few times where I wish I would have gotten a DRZ-400 for the extra power, but when you compare price and reliability I'm perfectly happy with my little 250 haha
Haha yeah right. Although I'm sure it did seem that way based of TW posts.

Suzuki's are reliable but nothing beats a honda. However, if they came out tomorrow with a fuel injected DRZ400 with a 6 speed trans, i'd never consider the CRF250L again.

That's another thing, I like the fact that it's fuel injected. Not sure if I'd like having to downgrade to a carbureted bike.

Its all i've ever been used to. I can work on carbs all day as long as i have a manual and i'm not syncing a bank of several of them together
