Thanks! Was definitely a great trip with great scenery and people.
Thanks! Changed up my usual settings and I'm pretty happy with them.
Thanks! You should definitely visit. Doing a trip at the end of May :boink:
Yup! I definitely realized from this trip that I actually didn't get enough pictures haha

Planning on upgrading the front suspension in the next few months, but can't decide on which aftermarket UCAs to go with. My primary conflict is whether or not to go uniball or stick with ball joints. Below is my understanding of the pros and cons of each as well as the options I've considered. Thoughts?

    Uniball:
    - Pros
    - Stronger
    - More travel, maybe?
    - Off road points :D
    - Cons
    - Can get noisy
    - More maintenance (lubrication)
    - Generally more expensive

    Ball Joint:
    - Pros
    - Practically zero maintenance
    - Not noisy
    - Cheaper
    - Cons
    - Weaker, maybe?
    - Less travel, maybe?
    - Less options

    Uniball UCA options:
    - Dirt King: $749. These first 3 would be my preference just due to the fact that they both have lower control arm options if I were to go that route in the future (OCD).
    - Total Chaos: $669. Same as above ^^^
    - Camburg: $699. Same as above, but they also have fully fabricated spindles on top of matching LCAs if I decide to go that route later on.
    - MCM Fab: $675. Local Vegas fab shop that specializes in Toyota off road parts, but doesn't have matching LCAs. Supporting a local business.

    Ball joint UCA options:
    - Dirt King: $549. These first 2 would be my preference just due to the fact that they both have lower control arm options if I were to go that route in the future (OCD).
    - Camburg: $569. Same as above, but they also have fully fabricated spindles on top of matching LCAs if I decide to go that route later on.
    - JBA Offroad: $695. Advertised with a ball joint setup that nets more travel than most uniball UCAs. Hate the bright red powdercoat though...

    Goot to know

My only fear with SPC is the issues they had in the past with the arms breaking or the adjustment coming loose causing your alignment to go out of wack. As far as I know those issues have been fixed, but it makes it hard to want to buy them.

Hey, I did quite a bit of research on 3rd gens from the time they came out up until I purchased one.

Must have just missed blowing up diffs I guess. I only knew some of them were low on fluid/whining. :notsure:

Haha at least I did the opposite there. Spent all day getting them down to what I wanted and the wife, while impressed with my negotiating, wasn't too impressed with a vehicle payment.

Luckily she changed her mind quickly on our first road trip with the heated seats, dual zone climate control, and no dog in her lap anymore ;)

Finally finishing up painting the new bed rack. Need to get everything bolted together and installed for camping this weekend. Been nice without the RTT for a little while though.

Finally installed my @RelentlessFabrication bed rack. Really liking the design so far. Still need to install the side rails for mounting accessories, but that can wait.

It’s going to be really close getting into the garage once the RTT is on there.

The important thing is that you have 3 Chapsticks.

    Lol funny story.

My mother-in-law puts chapstick in the stockings every Christmas. I think we have at least 15 chapsticks around the house, so I threw them in there. I actually use them now at least.

Did some camping over the weekend. First camping trip with just me, the wife, and the dog. Was a nice change of pace.

We intended to go to Cathedral Gorge State Park where there is some cool hiking and slot canyons, but we got a late start and by the time we got into the state park at around 9pm it was full. So we took a chance on this BLM campground and got there around 10pm. We woke up to having the entire area to ourselves, free firewood, and free camping! Turns out it's a trailhead for the Silver State OHV trail system. Would have been cool to explore, but this weekend was focused on just relaxing. Caught up on some reading, the dog got some much needed outdoor time, and did a little bit of geocaching.

Yeah, the whole area was pretty sloped. Hard to believe the tent is actually level that way haha
