I am a first time Tacoma owner so forgive my ignorance. A few weeks ago the dealer told me that i have to turn off PCS every time I tow or it will cost me $400 to recalibrate it? This seems fishy to me since the default is PCS on. I have not found this in the manual other than just as a safety suggestion. Any thoughts on this? BTW, my trailer is 3000# E-Pro and I use a proper WDH when trailering. I have also had my cruise go out when not trailering but fortunately that resets when I restart,

yikes. I don’t know a lot about PCS so take my opinions with like half a salt mine....

I’m calling bullshit on them needing to recalibrate after you tow. No way that’s true. I could see the PCS maybe acting up if you were hauling something that significantly changed the angle of your truck but even then it should just be fine one the load is gone.

I’m sure someone more knowledgeable than me will chime in.

    Welcome to TW. :hattip:

The manual (pg 238) has a list of situations that advise turning off PCS and towing is one of them but it doesn't mention that $400 recalibration thing. Your dealer is making you aware of a safety recommendation but for the wrong reason.

After reading up on this I think I’ll be turning mine off when I tow from now on. Thanks for the heads up.
