I have one on my GTO. It catches maybe an ounce of oil between changes. Pretty small amount, but cars vary, and that's 1 ounce less going back through the intake and valves. I spent like $250 on it, and I don't regret the purchase. That being said, these can be built for like $20 with parts from Lowe's. If I did one, I wouldn't spend the big bucks for a name brand again. Live and learn.

Also, consider it is technically a modification the the PCV system and can cause you to fail a visual inspection on smog (at least in CA).

I realize this is an older thread but it's worth mentioning that there's no drain returns in the back of the 2GR-FKS head and consequently I've seen a few videos where people were taking their 3rd gen Taco's on 30% grades (or maybe steeper) and the oil was pooling in the back of the head and then got sucked into the intake in mass.
Consequently this caused the engine to hydro-lock (to some degree) on excessive oil being sucked into the head.

A general safeguard, if you're doing steep hill climbs, is a catch can as the oil will pool in their first before going straight into your intake in mass.

    Food for thought :).

I was on the fence for a while but then I found a cheap one and decided to buy it for my Tacoma. It’s no-name-brand but seems decent quality (machined aluminum with O rings) It was about ~$40 online. TBH, if it was $100+ I wouldn’t have bought one.
I’ve had it for a few months and already dumped out close to 1/2 quart of oil that normally would have gone straight into my intake (Seems like there’s always some oil to dump after really long highway trips) Since i’m hoping to drive my truck forever, it seemed like cheap insurance to me.......

Anyone who's installed one of these seen any sort of noticeable mpg bump? Even a half MPG seems worth it to me since my truck is such a slug ever after OVtuning lol.

    All of them.
No. This will not effect your MPG in any way.
