Mmmmm good to know on this one as I have a 60" that has been cut down just a tad... but still longer than 48"

@Pelfreybilt i'm already bumpered-up but i really need a jerry can holder. could you please comment on the decision to make the full cage on your mount? is it just extra stoutness or are there other design secrets that led to the decision to make a fully encompassing can holder?

also, is the can holder something i could pick up in El Cajon? thanks.

My brother has a 60" mount on a dual swingout on his LC and its mounted diagonal on the back.

If we can't mount the 60" which I also have mounted in the bed with floor plate removed it will stay there.

Word, I wonder why they would not have the Hi-Lift mount just standing up? Would be able to fit all sizes that way I would assume? May have to build my own mount for it somehow for the driver side swing out if I am not able to mount my 60" on the swingout laying down.

Possibly, but I have seen plenty of Hi-Lifts mounted up and down on bumpers without issues, maybe they were not all 60" hi-lifts...

We are trying to keep the gates universal between generations and also keep them tucked as close to the gate as possible so horizontal has worked best so far but that may change. Realistically, you should have the jack mounting in an area that sees less of the elements than the rear bumper. Obviously most people don't and thats why we are adding a provision for it but bed mounting is definitely more ideal and no, we have seen less 60" HL than you think. Most are 48"

Mine is like a 52" model as I had it cut down some to fit better in my bed... but I guess I can always look at getting a 48" jack if needed.

My 60” is mounted on the passenger bed rail in a DCSB but did remove the base plate which is bolted to part of it and easy to remove.

It is nice having it out of the elements but would like the space back as I am thinking of a sleeping platform

@Pelfreybilt - had a thought. Previously you said that the gate could always be added later. Does that mean the gates wouldn't be unreasonably difficult to removed and put back on?

I ask because sometimes I need to carry a load with the tailgate down and I'm curious if I'm going to lose that ability.
