Haha so I'd lose weight by switching to a swing out bumper

Until you add on the spare and what ever else, but most likely.

That is awesome. I was worried that someday I would have to switch up my suspension again. I just installed an AAL and didn't want to have to do the full leaf pack.

well yeah. A full leaf pack is necessary in the long run. At least it should last me a little while right?

If you get a swingout and you have the tire + gas (or anything else) I'd doubt you'd lose weight from where you're at right now. These bumpers are pretty stout, and I'd put money on the fact that the swingout alone weighs more than the stock hitch. :notsure:

I'm sure with how many bumpers+swingouts they've shipped @Pelfreybilt can give you gross weight.

the AAL won't last. I did the same thing as you, didn't want to do a full leaf pack but then I was told it won't last so I sold my stock leaf pack with icon AAL in it 2 months after I got it. So happy with the Dakar pack and AAL in it, trust me it's worth it.

Get the money out of it now and put it into a full leaf pack

I think bumper weighs 85 and swing out weighs 50. Seems like tow package weighs about as much as the swing out. Just have the added tire weight.

I'll have to look into a leaf pack sooner then. But then I need extended travel shocks right?

Having to re-install the bumper alone 2 months ago, I have a hard time believing it's only 85 lbs :notsure: maybe I need to go back to the gym :(

Haha I was just going off of what pelfreybilt said!

It's also a very awkward weight though.

If you do get a new rear bumper though you've got to go high clearance.. You may not want to cut your bed sides now but trust me it's worth it! More protection too

I would be into that but I just can't justify it. I don't crawl really. I use my truck as a camping rig and it's great that it can go places most can't. I don't think it will ever be a rock crawler unfortunately. Maybe my next Taco.

I would just bite the bullet and do the HC. So you won't regret it later. Much more piece of mind. Plus, it looks better imo. But I'm a little biased :D
