I opted to have my bumper shipped to be bare metal due to chances of the coating being damaged in shipping.

That being said, I have had other bumpers coated before locally, The whole bumper is coated, front and back. If you have a local shop that can do it. It might save you alittle lead time. Regardless, I doubt Pelfrey would allow a product to go out the door with poor powdercoating!

Powdercoat from them is far superior to any other Powdercoater I've seen. Inside of the bumper is done too. There was no part of my bumper or Swingout that was not coated.

Aluminum for the front! One less thing you have to worry about rusting on your truck. Even on the west coast here, I've seen some pretty badly pitted/rusted front steel plate bumpers.

Their powder coat is good quality. My bumper made it to Hawaii with only a few tiny, minor, not noticable, flaws from shipping. After I went wheeling the first time, I can't even really see the flaws anymore. The coating has been holding up till this day.

I was gonna have them PC my front bumper as well but decided to sell the truck and buy a runner. I'll be getting one of their aluminum fronts for that truck ASAP!

Looking to get front and back bumpers through Pelfreybilt but am currently 100% stock. Was curious on the order of upgrades. Plans on wheels, lift, and bumpers. Any experience or comments on what order I should make those upgrades? Wether it be for looks or technical reasons. Thanks!

Pelfrey recommends 700lb coilovers in the front for a full steel plate bumper with full hoops. I opted for the aluminum for the weight savings and as I only have 650lb Icons. I would probably upgrade your suspension before going with bumpers. The rear bumpers with swing out can add almost 200lbs to the ass end of the truck. I'd do lift with tires, then worry about bumpers.

Thanks, that is what I was thinking also. Tires and lift in one go, then come back and throw some bumpers on.

Just remember to take in consideration the weights of the armor and plan the suspension upgrades with them in mind!

Will do, and was thinking single hoop front bumper / high clearance rear bumper with Icon Stage 2 suspension.

700# springs I believe are an "upgrade" spring. The 650# spring comes standard.

When I bought my icons from DSM it was a $100 upgrade, but that was a few years back. Not sure what they are now.

If you run aluminum you don't need 700# springs.
