I wouldn't buy anything from harbor freight. I'd make sure the bolt is a grade 8 bolt though. Any idea if the Pelfreybilt sliders have bolts that go through the bottom side of the frame?

Which skid, and what bolt. IIRC, there are a couple different sizes used under there

If you're talking about the ones that go through the frame, I'm almost positive they are 3/8 x 1.5''. Unsure of the pitch though :notsure:

Not to sidetrack here, but HF has its purpose...tools that are RARELY used or one-time use...jack stands (yes, believe it or not, they have good jack stands that we have used for YEARS with no failures)...pneumatic bottle jacks...shop hoist...

The KEY is not to overload the items and know their limits ;).

Note: This is definitely my opinion, not shared by all, but I figure it's grounded since I'm a heavy-duty farm equipment service manager!

lol oh I understand the one time or rarely used tool concept and HF having my business. I have just found their hardware to be unacceptable. plus the point really was out of sarcasm as the bolt they tried to use is probably half the size and looks cheap.

Agreed! Hey I have their standard rear plate bumper and I get compliments every week on how good it looks!

I really want to save up for their front bumper, skids, and rock sliders :D.

Gonna be installing another HC rear bumper soon I'll snap pics of the install to help others wanting to tackle this and are scared of cutting off the bottom of the bed lol. I have done 5 of them now, the first one was a little bit intimidating I will admit! And it was on a brand new Baja edition.

Can you post pictures how you cleaned up the backend under the lights. I am curious how differently you do it vs how I did it.

Wasn't too bad using that wheel but I now have a dewalt that uses the 4.5 inch wheels. But of course now that I have it no one needs a HC bumper installed :)

I must have gone the opposite of you. I had the 4.5" and was wishing for the die grinder instead! granted wanted for a HC bumper (yet) but still
