No not at all. I mounted the control box to an L bracket coming from behind the headlight. Its very sturdy.

 

EDITTTTTTT!!!! You should be able to fit the SmittyBilt 12k in the bumper.

 

The bumpers work perfectly with the Baja Designs SR8 and any of the Rigid SR-20 bars. This is based on the end mounting width. The bumpers come with mounting brackets already installed.

 

One more question about your front bumpers for a '12-'15......I have a BAMF IFS skid. Is the mounting of the bumper going to require any modification to work with the skid or vice versa?

 

Is there enough room to get 2 pods on each side of a hybrid bumper? Anybody got a pic of what the mounting area looks like? I'm sure I can modify the attachment as long as they fit in the space.

 

We know our skid does not interfere with most other bumpers b ut cannot say for certain if another companies will work with ours.

 

Mike, or Tyler. Can you guys customize the Size of the LED bar area to accommodate a Rigid E2 20in? Does it affect Bumper integrity?

The E2 will work, it just fills the entire cutout so there is no room left for a light cover. The design intent is to allow a cover in the event your stare requires it. If you're not concerned about covering it then you'll be just fine. Many people have chose the double row route

Thanks. I heard a rumor CA is soon to pass/ already may have legislation that'll require LED Light bars to have Covers. Anyone got info on that ?

 

CA has always required that. They just dont really enforce it.

 

Are the bolt on Pelfrey sliders for the DCSB snug fit or do they hang way out?

 

We make them to provide the most clearance possible and are angled slightly upward to provide maximum protection without sticking out too far.

What is the install like if I wanted to add the 20" lightbar to the bumper once it is on the truck? Wiring is already on the truck for a bumper lightbar, but am not doing a lightbar for the spot at the moment. Would I be able to install the lightbar while the bumper is still on the vehicle?

Adding the light bar afterward is possible, just gotta finagle it in there. Small hands are a plus for this.

 

The Baja Designs S8 I had no problem mounting after installing my bumper and winch. I took my front grill off so I had more room to move around and also run the wires the way I wanted.
