Could you add a washer to the bottom of the spindle? It may get you just enough clearance. I don't have a swing out (yet), just brainstorming.

Too poor to list anything interesting.
Just installed mine this weekend. It was a little tricky. There was too big of a gap on the gate between latch and receiver.

We had to put the bearings in the gate first. Then on the bottom hole, we pressed in that metal cup with a clamp. We moved the gate up and down to get the castle nut down in there, but learned that it is better to have the hole of the cotter pin on level with the nut. Afterward, the gate seemed to be spot on. I'm not sure if you did the same, but this seemed to work for me.

FWIW, I did have to drill out a hole on the latch where the locking pin pops in. It was just ever so slightly off.

Anyone know how far the sliders stick out? I wanted to see if they could double as a stepping point. I was looking at pelfreybilt or bamf

That's exactly how we assembled it. I actually pulled it all apart and reassembled it yesterday. Even trying to hold the gate up a little as we torqued the castle nut. It's slightly better. But still dragging.

I hope you get your answer soon.

I can try to snap a pic of my gap on the spindle between the gate and bumper.

Something sounds off somehow. There should be about 1/2" gap from the bumper to the gate, it is also pre-loaded to be about an additional 1/4" on the latch side so when its loaded you don't have to pick up on it.
Double check that you used the large bearing on the bottom, then the dust seal. The small bearing on the top followed by castle nut and thrust washer and cotter pin. The bearings can only go one way because of the taper. All the bumpers/gates are welded as an assembly so I'm certain that you're in good shape, something just got mixed up on installation. I'm guessing the bearings got mixed up. Unfortunately to remove the lower bearing requires removing the dust seal on the bottom, its hard to remove without damaging. New ones are readily available at most auto parts stores for a few bucks. The bearings major diameters measure appx 1.80" and 2.15" with the larger one on the bottom of the spindle.

Take a look and let us know, we will get you dialed in

Have a helper lift on the swingout and take the weight off of it while you snug down the big nut.

I lifted the gate as he tightened it so that's not the issue.

I'm positive we put the big bearing on the bottom. It was obvious. And I pulled it apart yesterday and looking at it with the bearing still at the bottom of the gate it appeared larger than the top one. But if not that what could it be. Maybe taking it all apart again is the only way

If anything I can pull the top one out and measure it. That'll tell me right away before I destroy the dust shield getting the other one out.

That sounds like a safe bet. Beyond the bearings getting mixed up I cant think of anything else that could cause this. Even if a gate somehow got mixed up I don't believe it woudl be that far off. Just to be sure though, while you're in there check the top of the spindle sleeve and the top of the spindle, they will both have a small letter stamped on them. Ensure those letters match

Funny you say that. I got a gate with hi lift adapters even though I didn't order them. But no hardware. Didn't think anything of it. But...image.jpg

Well, this is embarrassing. I woudl be willing to bet if @greeneggsnspam were to check his spindle lettering he woudl see a similar issue since he did not get a hi lift mount but did order it. It appears that the gates may have been mixed up after powdercoating. I will reach out via email to sort out how to rectify this. Im very sorry

Ok. Getting a caliper in there the bearing looks to be the right size but I don't have time to pull the whole gate today. I'll pull it tomorrow and check for sure with the bearing out. I'll private message/email you. Thanks.
