Hitch and electrical are a bit close, difficult to get it all in there because of the rear bracing behind the receiver but going to try to move it out a bit, good eye. This is the prototype and it will work but these are the little things that I am sorting out as I go.

Hi-lift cutouts are directly to the rear and they will stay that way, there is not a corner portion that will be there, its basically a 90º

Material is A-36 Steel, 3/8" direct to the frame and all other is 3/16". Tire gate is 3" x 2" x .120" tube and a 4140 Chromolloy spindle assembly.

The entire thing is 1 piece, bolt on sides would not cut it in my opinoion.

The shackle mounts are one piece, extensions of the frame mounts that extend thru the face of the bumper. They have 3/4" wide tubes welded inside them that are .250" wall DOM.

I've been following TacoDoc1's Demello Offroad Rear Bumper Project thread because his is the absolute closest thing I've come across to what I'm envisioning for my HCRB. He *just* got it done, and is out testing it before the Mountain Rendezvous.
I would prefer to take my business to Pelfreybilt here.
Following the progress with TacoDoc1 has me seeing some issues I'm wondering if you've thought about?
In particular, the tendency of HCRBs with swing-outs to crack around the pivot? One solution is to build the swing-out and everything attached to it from aluminum (which also helps with weight in general). I wonder if there are other options? Including reinforcing the bumper, maybe with extra gussets, or perhaps by "boxing" the bumper (not sure how to call it: basically, more-or-less sealing up the bumper by welding a plate on the backside), or maybe extending the pivot all the way through the bumper to the bottom?
Another concern is total weight. Building everything from steel (HCRB + swingout + mounts for everything) is going to put an assload of tonnage as far from the axle as possible, and that's before any accessories are added (for me, I'll be adding one or two water cans, two or four fuel cans, Hi-Lift, trail tools, probably recovery bag, and a few other lightweight items).
Just trying to help you out in design considerations. I'm not a welder or a metallugist, so I don't know the first thing about fabrication or metal properties. But I do know how to keep an eye out for possible design flaws, and also good designs. Just trying to provide constructive criticism.

Wondering if you've thought about offering an undermount spare tire skidplate? It's not something I've seen anyone else have, and not even really sure it's something that exists at all.
Here's my thinking: Some people will never mount their spare anywhere but under the bed, yet will still go wheeling in areas that might puncture the tire. Other people will choose to stick with the undermount to keep weight more evenly distributed (more of my angle). Still others might have some other reasoning. At any rate, keeping the spare in its stock location can put it in danger of sidewall punctures, especially if the tire mounted is large.
The plate could be mounted with the tire via the tire's stock retraction cable. Or it could be extended out to the frame on either side, thereby adding structural integrity to the truck. It could also be mounted to a high-clearance rear bumper. If frame- or HCRB-mounted, there would need to be some kind of quick-release mechanism to access the tire without spending time turning a wrench. In all methods, there would need to be an oval notch to allow valvestem access for various wheel sizes.
Just a thought. I could be way over-thinking the spare's vulnerability.

(Yeah, I know. Being a bit of a post whore here. Meh.)

You need to add yourself to the TW Vendor list. Or move/include this thread in the B/S/T section. Or something. I can never remember to find it in SoCal Regional Discussions.

I feel pretty confident that cracking wont be an issue. The stem is welded all the way donwn the inside of the bumper and flushes with the bottom where it is welded also. It also has locating and gusseting rings around the stem that tie into the back inside face. Weight really wont be much omore than stock, more, yes but not a ton more. Adding 60 gallong of gas and water is where the weight comes in. I always appreicate you insight and input Shane.

if you had a high clearance rear bumper i would think you wouldnt have the spare down there anymore, wouldnt the spare be lower than the HC then

The hitch on the HCRB wont allow for a factory location spare. I think the skids would be for folks that have a setup that allows the factory spare to remain. That is a really vulnerable location for sure

Just picked up a bed rack today from Tyler for my RTT. Thing kicks ass. Will be getting some lights to put on the tabs he burned in and a hi-lift will be going on the side. No pictures at the moment, but I know he snapped one, so maybe he'll throw it up.

Tyler will be getting some more of my rent money in the future for sure.

Pics or it didn't happen Colton!!! Get that tent mounted up, I wanna see it. That was the main thought behind building these racks. I'm hoping someday ill be baller status like you and I can afford a tent to go on my rack :D

Baller status = parents rewarding you for spending 5 years and a ton of their money drinking, sleeping and questionable decision making which somehow culminated in a piece of paper with a printed signature that says I've done enough and don't have to come back.

edit: Tent guy didn't come through today, maybe tomorrow. Then I'll put that rack to good use
