Sounds like something a good friend would do.
I'll have to show my cousin that dog cage, see if he might be interested.

That the plan, we made a custom disco ball mount than folds up inside the tent and plumbed the bed for a fog machine. The Pony keg fits where the factory spare goes.

Having paid him a personal visit, I can vouch for the fact that looks can be deceiving. His shop is much cleaner than it looks in the pictures. I was tempted to use his floor as a plate for my sammich......

Tyler, I'm curious where you are aiming to have the cut? It looks higher than I'm used to seeing from others...?...

Are you reinforcing the Hi-Lift points (double-layer of plate)?

I can see why the stock spare mount gets deleted. Any way you can work it so we can keep it?? Maybe move the whole bumper rearward some inches and shorten the hitch tube?? :notsure:

    Looking good man. Real good.

The cut is basically even with the bottom of the tail lights.
Once I get it mounted up ill see how much room for the factory spare there is, it may still fit or damn close. I didn't reinforce the hi-lift points on this proto but it is a consideration, not likely necessary. I'm going to go out he next couple weekends and beat the shit out of this prototype, see how everything works and adjust accordingly.

Any thoughts on offering a cutout for routing exhaust exit through the bumper?
Saw this on a pretty well-built '89 Pickup last week (his was out the side, just barely before the corner), thought it was not a bad idea.

Thats prety much just a hole, the exhaust shop routes it from there. The biggest problem is those setups can rattle if the pipe is not super secure to the bumper

I think I will leave that up to the buyer, not a complicated option, just a hole perhaps with a flange on the inside, I think I would have a flexible junction attached to the bumper to eliminate rattles etc. My other concern would be clearing the leafs, just gotta have a good exhaust guy.

So this is where we are at now. Its not perfected nor ready for production. There are some changes I need to make in the latch system and of course the sanding and finish, they both leave a lot to be desired. Before I sell any they need to be perfect, were not there yet. Im going to beat on it foir a couple weeks, make the necessary changes and go from there.

What I'm getting from this is you are sending one to Florida for additional testing.

Low blow Tyler...low blow...who puts a green picnic table in the middle of a campsite? I will take it to my grave that I honestly did not even see the thing as we were pulling out. Besides..it was pretty much asking for someone to drive on top of the bench portion.

You can put a tab on the backside of the bumper and put a standoff hanger with a clamp close to the bumper. It wouldn't rattle. Would need a 3-3.5 " hole for 2.5" pipe.
