Don't know if these helps because I'm in Cali but -

My dad and my brother are both into racing so they try to find things like this all the time. They found that Sanoma Raceway every Wednesday night opens up their drag strips for just like 20 bucks a person and literally all you need is a motorized vehicle. It can be a truck, sports car, even minivan. They've seen trucks up there before and told me I could go up with them and drag the taco many times, I've just never gotten around to do it. So basically if this is something you'd want to do, I'd just be looking for any nearby raceway that hold "dragnights".

If you're expecting to win with a 4cyl taco you're going to be sorely dissapointed.

But look into bracket racing. You can win on a Segway.

Just out of curiosity, why in the world would you want to rave with a Tacoma of all vehicles? They are slow as hell and not built for “racing”. I understand you mean legal racing, but coming from someone that raced an Evolution this is just crazy to waste our time with such a slow truck. I love my truck but it’s not even a thought to try and race with it.

Not trying to knock the idea, but racing should be done fast. Our Tacoma’s even like the 2nd gens with superchargers aren’t really that fast.

I have a buddy that races a Toyota pickup with a 22re. He has quite a bit of success.

My local drag strip has test & tune nights. I think it was like $15 bucks for as many runs as you can get in. I wouldn't take my Tacoma there, but I used to take a Cooper S. I pissed off so many Honda bois with their JDM crap & gutted exhausts that sounded worse than my lawnmower.

I saw some trucks run, but they would be something like supercharged F150s. Just watch your back end. There's not much weight to give you traction and you don't want it coming out from under you.

I'm an open wheeler nut. i live for handling and tire limits. i have setup my Tacoma for throttle steering and am fully engaged wherever i drive.

if anyone has a Texas MSR membership and wants to invite, I'll be there and am craving it.

last time i was there was in my R32 but i think the Taco is much more fun in every way. so... any members?

Back when i used to run scca autocross there used to be a 1st gen reg cab than ran at every event. From what i remember he kept up pretty good with everybody in his class.

I run my gen2 in mud drags, sand drags and do pretty well in both. Most trucks in mini class around here are jeeps. i also run stock, mostly fullsize relatively stock. What i lose in hp i gain weightwise. With a higher revving v6 5spd auto it does pretty well. I generally put shifter in 4th hi range, let tranny do what it does, seems to hold shifts off a little bit? Tire choice makes all the difference. I run skinnys, 255 km2s , 33 10.5 swampers depending on conditions. By the way fullsize.guyz dont like getting beat by a 10 yr old taco!

It was like 16.7 or something like that. That was before my smaller supercharger pulley and 4.56 gears so I should be a little quicker now

My cousin's here until Wednesday morning and we're both Star Wars nuts. GameStop was surprisingly open on Easter Sunday and we picked up a little something...

My cousin does not own any of the newest game consoles, but he was telling me how awesome Battlefront II is and I have a PS4, so after finding the local Target to be closed, we drove over to GameStop and found it on sale!

We, a couple of 29-year old guys, have been taking turns playing for the last 5-6 hours or so!

Borrowed the original one from my friend, and now we (my cousin and me) are "destroying as much rebel scum as we possibly can" while we wait for the game to load!

5-7 HP gain under ideal conditions. It's likely you will see little or no gains.

And how will you tell the treehuggers that you have betrayed humanity by installing an aftermarket air filter? Put a K&N sticker on the truck? Believe me, the environmentalists are looking at the big picture: closing off-road areas, choking us with emissions laws, putting booze in our gasoline, etc etc. Plus, if you do certain things just to upset others (environmentalists or anyone else), you will not make any difference in the real world and you will look immature to everyone. The best example you could provide is simply doing whatever the hell you want, and not advertise it. Just enjoy your life without seeking any extra attention.

This is by far the best reason to buy a lifetime air filter! Also, K&N does not have a monopoly on lifetime air filters -- there are many other reputable brands, many of which do not require oil (huge plus). Lifetime air filters are available for the stock intake, commonly called "drop-in" filters. Many of those cone-filter aftermarket intake systems will draw hot air from the engine bay instead of cold air from the fender as the stock system does.

Actually it's a different game, basically a "reboot." The one you have was for PS2 and Xbox.
