Hmm, do any of you offroad? Does it stay in place with aggressive maneuvers?

I don't off-road much at all but it seems to be very secure. I'll update the status of the leather steering wheel cover in a week or two. It is leather, it was not easy to stretch it on the steering wheel and my fingers hurt from threading the string tightly on the wheel for almost two hours.

I am confirming measurements with the WheelSkins folk and then will buy one of theirs. They have a pretty good install video which probably applies to most covers regardless of manufacturer:

Nice find, my steering wheel is dinged up, primarily from the clip on my pocket knife hitting it when I get out I think. I put a Wheelskins on a couple of my old VWs and also on my last Tacoma and they all held up well and felt better, especially on the VWs.

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
WARNING: the perforated wheel cover mentioned in the first post does not fit the newer TRD steering wheel with the thumb bumps. I ordered the medium based on this post and tried to install yesterday. The steering wheel is too fat. When I tried to stitch it to pull the two sides together (I didn't think it would work but the directions say "tight is right") the 3rd stitch ripped right through the leather. And I call bullshit on having "reinforced" stitch holes. They're just holes, hardly distinguishable from the perforations other than you can only see them on the outside unlike the the perforations that go all the way through. I'm going to contact the co. and see what can be done, but be careful - the leather is nice and has a good feel, but it is thin and NOT reinforced anywhere. I'm guessing the newer, thicker steering wheels need a size M+ like the smooth leather one comes in...or maybe the L in the perforated?

Update: My leather cover is doing great! I did forget to mention one thing, when you are threading the holes sometimes the holes are very close to the edge. If this is the case just thread the holes a little further from the edge and you'll be just fine. I had a couple of my holes rip as well but it was an easy fix.

I had a go at this today and for love nor money would that shit stretch onto the wheel. It did say medium but it must have been a small or something cuz it actually ripped the material stretching it so hard. Had to throw it away... shit!

I did the same last month and put it on my 08 without any issues. I had one on a previous truck, but I think it was sheepskin or some other softer leather.

Either way, no issues with the install or anything else. Just stitch it tight, use a well lit area IOT help see the holes, use your man hands(or something to push on the needle), and keep a beer or two in the cup holders.

So far so good with this thing. Well worth the $$
FYI if your concerned about the stitching being uneven and you have OCD, get the black thread so your mistakes are easily hidden.

I don't disagree with you there. I'd like it to go all the way up over the tabs like the factory cut. But for a universal version that provides protection, it'll work until I find a factory style
